Everton will be on cloud nine after their derby victory over Liverpool on Wednesday night. It was a massive victory, not just for the bragging rights in the city, but for their relegation battle. They now sit eight points clear of the bottom three and a win at home to Brentford (17:30, Sky Sports Main Event) could mathematically secure their place in the Premier League if other results go their way.

Below you can find my Everton vs Brentford Bet Builder Tips.

Everton vs Brentford Bet Builder Tips

  • Everton to win to nil
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score
  • Vitaly Janelt to be booked

#PickYourPunt pays 28/1

Everton to win to nil

After back-to-back 2-0 home wins, Everton have lifted the relegation pressures that were placed upon their shoulders a few weeks ago. They’ve responded to the 6-0 defeat to Chelsea in style and now, despite points deductions, will surely be playing in the top flight next season.

They can mathematically secure their safety if they beat Brentford, and Luton and Nottingham Forest both fail to win. I can see another bouncing atmosphere at Goodison Park dragging the hosts over the line, with another clean sheet on the way. Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski have been solid of late, and I can see them keeping Brentford at arm’s length.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is enjoying some good form in front of goal as the season reaches its conclusion. The Englishman has now scored three goals in his last four league matches, including the second against Liverpool in midweek. He is now full of confidence, and should be able to take full advantage against Brentford - who haven’t kept a clean sheet in their last six league games.

I think he will be able to terrorise Brentford, and given we are backing Everton to win to nil, it also makes sense to back the physical number nine to continue this impressive run of goals. The Bees conceded three at Aston Villa and four at West Ham, so this defence will crumble if you get at it. I think Calvert-Lewin will find the net at some point.

Vitaly Janelt to be booked

Let’s round off this #PickYourPunt with a card selection. I’m expecting this to be a feisty affair and Vitaly Janelt is the most obvious candidate to be booked. He’s picked up four yellows in his last eight matches, and in an interesting quirk, been booked in every other game during that run. He avoided a card at Luton, so you know what that means…

He is going to have to be aggressive in this tough away match, and with the running power of James Garner and Abdoulaye Doucoure, he may have to make a foul or two. Backing the combative midfielder to pick up a caution takes our odds up to 28/1.
