Celtic need a miracle. Having lost the home leg 4-1 to Stuttgart, Martin O’Neill’s side need to stage an almighty comeback to make it through to the next round of the Europa League as they head to Germany.

Stuttgart are heavy favourites here, and below you can find my Stuttgart vs Celtic predictions featuring team news and more.

Team News

Denis Undav’s late goal rescued a 3-3 draw at the weekend, and despite holding such a healthy advantage over Celtic, we can expect Sebastian Hoeness to name a strong side from the off.

Undav, Ermedin Demirovic, Chris Fuhrich and Bilal El Khannouss should line up in attack, while Jeff Chabot is suspended.

Having lost back-to-back games, and with the Old Firm to come this weekend, O’Neil may shake things up for this away test. Auston Trusty was sent off in their last league game but his ban doesn’t count for European games so he should start again.

Daizen Maeda may return to the XI, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is ineligible as he is not named in the Hoops' European squad. The Celtic boss won’t want to admit this tie is over with his team selection, but the Bhoys are in a title race and may have to prioritise that.

Football Odds

Stuttgart vs Celtic Predicted Lineups

  • Stuttgart - Nubel; Assignon, Jacquez, Jeltsch, Mittelstadt; Karazor, Andres; El Khannouss, Undav, Fuhrich; Demirovic
  • Celtic - Schmeichel; Araujo, Trusty, Scales, Tierney; McGregor, Hatate; Maeda, Nygren, Forrest; Cvancara

Stuttgart vs Celtic Odds

Stuttgart are priced at 2/5 to win this one, giving them an implied win probablity of 71%. Meanwhile a draw is 4/1 and a Celtic win on the night is 5/1.

Celtic are 40/1 to win the tie, showing the scale of the task at hand.

 Stuttgart vs Celtic Stats

  • Stuttgart are 4-1 up from the first leg
  • Bilal El Khannouss has scored eight goals and been booked eight times this season

Price Boost - Stuttgart win to nil, Stuttgart most corners, Celtic most cards @ 5/1

Stuttgart are clearly the superior team here and I think Celtic may be having a little wobble. The home defeat derailed them, and Kai Andrews' late winner for Hibs at Celtic Park has further compounded their misery.

I think Celtic are in a bit of trouble with Rangers to come on Sunday, and that game could decide the title - although Hearts will have something to say about that. Stuttgart should cruise through this second leg, and I’ll back them to get a clean sheet with this Price Boost too.

Having the most corners should come as a result of dominating, while Celtic’s frustration may lead to a few yellows. Decent Price Boost I’ll get behind.

Bet Builder - Bilal El Khannouss to score and get booked @ 11/1

El Khannouss has been an excellent signing for Stuttgart, and he remains on loan from Championship strugglers Leicester City - although that deal should be made permanent this summer.

The number 10 scored twice at Celtic Park, and has eight goals and six assists in total this term, but I think we can find some value with this Bet Builder. I fancy him to find the net again against a weakened Celtic team, while the forward also has a bad habit of picking up cards, with eight in total in 31 fixtures.
