Porto vs Nottingham Forest Prediction: Dragons to avenge their league-phase defeat

Porto and Nottingham Forest have already faced one another in the Uefa Europa League this season, so they should both know what to expect ahead of the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Thursday (20:00 BST, TNT Sports 1).
Forest won the last encounter on home turf but a tougher experience is expected at Estadio do Dragao. Below you will find my Porto vs Nottingham Forest predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds Betfred have to offer.

Team News
Porto are light in the striker department because of long-term injuries to Samu Aghehowa (cruciate ligament tear) and Luuk De Jong (knee). Terem Moffi should lead the line for the Dragons as a result.
Support in the final third is likely to come from Borja Sainz and William Gomes. Rodrigo Mora and Nahuen Perez are doubts to feature on Thursday because of knocks.
Jair Cunha (foot), Willy Bolly, Nicolo Savona, John Victor and Chris Wood (all knee) are sidelined for Forest.
Omari Hutchinson and Ola Aina are doubts owing to physical discomfort. Elliot Anderson is suspended, so Ibrahim Sangare and Nicolas Dominguez are expected to line up in the middle of the park.
Porto vs Nottingham Forest Predicted Lineups
- Porto: D Costa; A Costa, Bednarek, Kiwior, Sanusi; Froholdt, Varela, Fofana; Gomes, Moffi, Sainz
- Nottingham Forest: Sels; Williams, Milenkovic, Murillo, Netz; Sangare, Dominguez; Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Jesus
Porto vs Nottingham Forest Odds
Porto have a perfect record at home in the Europa League this campaign and they are an 11/10 shot to win.
Forest are 5/2 to beat the Dragons for the second time this season, and the Tricky Trees have tasted victory in three of their previous four away trips in Europe.
The draw is available at 23/10.
Forest striker Igor Jesus is the joint-top scorer in the UEL with seven goals. He is 11/4 to strike anytime here.
Porto vs Nottingham Forest Stats
- Porto have won all 5 of their home matches in the Europa League this season
- Porto have suffered just one defeat at home all season (W19 D3)
- Both teams have scored in 4 of Porto's past 5 outings in the UEL
Match Result - Porto @ 11/10
Porto suffered a surprising loss to Forest in the league phase back in October. The Tricky Trees had recently sacked Ange Postecoglou but Sean Dyche came in and inspired his players to a 2-0 victory over the Dragons.
Forest face Porto on this occasion with another manager in charge. Vitor Pereira has the task of leading the team in Portugal and this encounter is unlikely to be played on the visitors' terms.
Porto have a phenomenal home record this season, suffering just one defeat here in all competitions. The Dragons have also won all five of their fixtures here in the Europa League, so even without their main strikers, they are still capable of gaining the advantage in this quarter-final.
An 11/10 (47.6%) price despite their outstanding home record is not to be overlooked.

Both Teams To Score - Yes @ 10/11
Defensively, particularly domestically, Porto have been very strong in 2025/26. However, they have been prone to lapses in concentration in Europe. Six of their 10 games to date have produced goals at both ends of the pitch, including three on home soil.
Additionally, BTTS - Yes has been a winning selection in four of their past five fixtures in the Europa League and I predict this trend will continue. Forest have already scored twice past the Portuguese giants this term, and this selection has landed in three of the Tricky Trees' six away trips in the Europa League to date.
