Celtic vs Stuttgart Prediction: Demirovic in the action

We’ve got a belting Europa League clash coming our way on Thursday night as Martin O’Neill’s Celtic host Stuttgart (20:00 GMT, TNT Sports 1), looking to make their mark in the playoff round.

Team News

January arrivals Julian Araujo, Junior Adamu and Tomas Cvancara have all been added to Celtic’s European squad and could feature here, especially after Araujo bagged that late winner against Kilmarnock in the 3-2 win. 

Having come from two goals down after half-time changes, expect Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sebastien Tounekti and Cvancara all to be rewarded with starts after contributing to that comeback in the second half.

Stuttgart should start with the dangerous front two of Denis Undav and Ermedin Demirovic, who are in fine form at the moment. Luca Jaquez may return after his illness but Lazar Jovanovic and Justin Diehl are set to be amongst those missing out.

Goals could be the order of the day at Celtic Park. Stuttgart have seen both teams score in three of their last five outings, while Celtic have now seen both teams find the net in six of their last seven.

With confidence high after that recent comeback win, I think the atmosphere will carry Celtic to at least one goal here, and maybe more. I think we are in for a brilliant game on Thursday night under the lights at Celtic Park and although Stuttgart are probably the rightful favourites, Celtic’s good form gives them a great chance of getting something.
