Estonia have been the whipping boys of Group F in 2024 European Championship qualifying and they face another difficult test on Thursday when Germany-bound Austria visit Lillekula Stadium.

Austria have already guaranteed their place in Germany next summer, but they can still qualify as pool winners, with just one point the gap to Belgium who face Azerbaijan on Sunday.

Ralf Rangnick's side should have no issues recording a victory over an Estonia side that have taken just one point from their six qualifiers, a run of results that leaves them bottom of the standings.

Estonia vs Austria Tips

  • Austria to win & over 2.5 total goals @ 19/20
  • Marcel Sabitzer to score anytime @ 3/1

Match Odds

Estonia are the 11/1 outsiders to pick up their first win in qualifying, with the draw priced at 9/2 and Austria the firm 1/4 favourites to walk away with all three points.

Estonia have lost their last four Euro 2024 qualifiers to nil and a win for Austria with a clean sheet is available at 4/5.

The Blueshirts have conceded 18 goals in qualifying, an average of three per game, and over 2.5 goals is priced at 8/11.

Team News

Shamrock Rovers midfielder Markus Poom has been recalled to Estonia's squad and is in contention to start, but there is no place for 155-cap captain Konstantin Vassiljev.

Austria have both David Alaba and Kevin Danso available for selection after the pair missed last month's win over Azerbaijan due to injury.

Guido Burgstaller wasn't named in the latest squad, although he would have been missing for this clash anyway after picking up a red card in the last fixture.

Austria to win & over 2.5 total goals @ 19/20

Estonia have endured a miserable time in qualifying, taking just one point from a possible 18 on offer, and they have struggled at both ends of the pitch.

The Blueshirts have only scored twice, only Gibraltar, San Marino and Liechtenstein (all one) have managed less in qualifying, while their tally of 18 goals against is one of the worst records.

All of this is pointing towards a heavy defeat against Austria, who know only a victory will do to keep them in with a chance of overhauling Belgium at the top of the group.

Rangnick's side have only lost one of their last 10 matches and they have impressed in the final third during this period, scoring 19 goals of which seven have come in the last three outings.

Estonia have suffered 3-0, 5-0 and 5-0 defeats in three of their last five assignments, and there looks to be every chance Austria can claim the spoils in a match that has over 2.5 goals.

Marcel Sabitzer to score anytime @ 3/1

Austria have a number of scoring threats in their side and one of those is Marcel Sabitzer, who has had to settle for substitute appearances in recent international fixtures, but has managed to make the most of his cameos.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has climbed off the bench in the last two matches to score from the spot in both - the 3-2 loss to Belgium and the 1-0 win over Azerbaijan.

He is a trusted penalty-taker and the 29-year-old, who has 16 goals from 75 caps, could get his name on the scoresheet again on Thursday evening.
