After losing their opening fixture at the Uefa European Women's Championship against France, England responded in style on matchday two as they thrashed the Netherlands 4-0. The Lionesses take on Wales at Kybunpark for their final fixture in Group D on Sunday (20:00, BBC One) as they bid to reach the knockout stage.

Wales are all but out on their first appearance at the Euros finals, and they will be troubled by how sharp England looked last time out. Read on to find my England vs Wales Bet Builder Tips, which pay out at 7/2.

England vs Wales Bet Builder Tips

England to win

England were able to drown out the noise of their critics against the Netherlands after they came under fire for their defeat to France. The defending champions looked more assured against the Oranje and they put on a glorious attacking display, which could have seen them score more than four goals.

Lauren James once again showed how talented she was with a brace, but how good was Hannah Hampton's pass to set one of her goals up? It was an unbelievable pass from the goalkeeper across 70 yards.

Sarina Wiegman and her players went back to the drawing board and it paid dividends as they cruised past the Netherlands to give their qualification chances a huge boost ahead of their showdown with debutants Wales.

The Dragons have found out just how much of a step up is made from qualifiers to the tournament finals and with two defeats so far, their Euros journey looks to be at an end - unless they pull off one of the biggest victories we've ever seen against the defending champions.

It's very unlikely and with how England performed against the Netherlands, I think they will be in for another comfortable victory on Sunday, particularly because of the gulf in class between Wales and the Lionesses' last opponents.

Over 3.5 goals

I'm backing the Lionesses' attackers to have another fruitful evening in front of goal because I think they can run riot against Wales to book their place in the knockout stage in style. Lauren James announced her arrival with a brace last time out, while Ella Toone, Georgia Stanway and Keira Walsh have all opened their accounts in Switzerland this summer.

Forward Alessia Russo will be hoping her first goal can come in this game but it does not take away her important contributions last time out as she recorded a hat-trick of assists for her teammates.

Wales have had a tough time of it at the Euros so far and it has been reflected in their matches. The Dragons have conceded seven goals across their two fixtures thus far, and I think their defensive record will worsen when they come up against the reigning champions, who came alive against the Netherlands.

Over 3.5 goals was a winning selection when Wales faced France last time out and in England's hammering of the Netherlands. All evidence points towards another high-scoring clash on Sunday night.

England vs Wales Bet Builder Stats

  • Over 3.5 goals has struck in three of England's last five matches
  • The Lionesses have won three of their past five games
  • Lauren James (ENG) bagged a brace last time out against the Netherlands

Lauren James to score 2+ goals

James was the star of the show in the Lionesses' last game and I think she will be set for another starring role against Wales. The 23-year-old found her groove against the Oranje and she took her brace extremely well, highlighting her skill and importance to Wiegman's side.

The Chelsea star is likely to remain in the starting XI to help ensure England don't falter and get themselves over the line and into the knockout stage. Wales will know the threat James poses, but trying to stop her is going to be something very different, and I doubt they will be able to do it.

The 23-year-old should have gained plenty of confidence against the Dutch and I think this will show in her performance on Sunday. And I think another couple of goals will be in store for her.
