The Bundesliga returns on Friday night with a key game in Eintracht Frankfurt’s push for the European places. They currently sit in sixth spot, and look relatively comfortable, although a resurgent Augsburg are likely to challenge them before the season is out. Next up, they host Werder Bremen at 19:30, with the away side in a dismal run of form.

Below you can find my Eintracht Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen prediction, featuring team news and betting tips.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Werder Bremen Tips

  • Eintracht Frankfurt to win @ 5/6
  • Eintracht Frankfurt to win and BTTS @ 12/5

Team News

Robin Koch is expected to continue his run of games at the heart of Frankfurt’s back three, alongside Tuta and Willian Pacho after they secured a clean sheet against Union Berlin. Young starlet Jean-Mattéo Bahoya has been managed carefully since his January move from Angers, but there’s a feeling he could be given his first start for the German club as they look for some spark in attack.

Meanwhile, Anthony Jung is suspended for Werder after his straight red card against Wolfsburg while manager Ole Werner could make changes in a bid to arrest his team’s poor form. Former Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita could come back into the XI, along with exciting youngster, Leon Opitz.

Match Odds

The home side are 5/6 to win this one, giving them an implied win probability of 54%. Meanwhile, Werder Bremen are priced at 3/1 to take the points, with a draw available at 11/4. If you fancy some goals, you can back BTTS at 4/6.

Eintracht Frankfurt to win @ 5/6

I’m happy to back the home side to win this game, and win it in style. Although they’ve only picked up one point from their last two, their form has actually been fairly decent of late. They lost 3-1 at Borussia Dortmund, but aside from that they are unbeaten in their last seven in the league.

A 0-0 draw with Union Berlin was uninspiring, but I’m also backing the home side based on the dismal form of Werder Bremen. Werner’s men have lost their last five games on the bounce and have sunk into mid-table obscurity. They won’t go down, but they also now won’t make the European places, meaning their players could be struggling for motivation. Home win.

Eintracht Frankfurt to win and BTTS @ 12/5

Werder Bremen have been awful of late, but they’ve also been able to find the net consistently. Their weekend defeat was the first time they have failed to score since December 2 in all competitions, and they played the majority of that game with ten men after Jung’s early red card.

I think they have more than enough about them to score again here, but that hasn’t been enough of late. Both teams have scored in four of their last five defeats, and I expect that trend to continue here.
