Dundee vs Dundee United Betting Tips
*Odds correct as of the time of publication
Dundee enjoy home advantage on Sunday when bitter rivals Dundee United cross the street for a 14:00 BST kick-off, which you can follow live on Premier Sports. Neither side has started the 2025/26 Scottish Premiership season particularly well, which ramps up the pressure on both managers and their squads.
The hosts enter with confidence, having won each of the previous two Dundee derbies. Can manager Steven Pressley lead his side to a treble over The Terrors?
Betfred offers a long list of pre-match and in-play betting markets, including match-winner, first scorer, both teams to score, half-time/full-time, and more. There’s something for everyone and a wager designed to make this clash even more interesting.
Dundee vs Dundee United Predicted Lineups
Dundee: McCracken, C Robertson, Astley, Graham, Wright, F Robertson, Jones, Dhanda, Samuels, Westley, Murray.
Dundee United: Kucherenko, Esselink, Iovu, Sevelj, Ferry, Sibbald, Fatah, Dolcek, Stephenson, Keresztes, Watters.
Match Result Odds:
Given Sunday’s match is a derby and both teams enter searching for their first win of the season, the betting odds are predictably competitive. Dundee will look to the backing of a home support to drive them to three points, and the head-to-head stats have convinced Betfred traders to chalk The Dee up as betting favourites.
If you fancy a home win, you can back Dundee to win on Sunday at odds of 13/8. There’s enough in that price to follow as a single or add to your weekend accumulators.
Can Dundee United upset both the odds and the home fans to ensure all three points make the short journey to Tannadice at full-time? Jim Goodwin’s hopefuls started the weekend 10th in the Premiership after banking one of the first six points available.
They did battle to a narrow 2-1 win here back in January, with Sam Dalby scoring a winner near the end. You can side with the visitors and underdogs at 7/4 or try the draw at 9/4. You’ll find both bets on the Betfred app and site.

Dundee vs Dundee United Stats
- All-Time H2H record - P178, Dundee 51 Wins, Dundee United 82 Wins, 45 Draws.
- Dundee have yet to taste victory in the SPL this season. Drawing twice and losing 1-2 at home to Hibs.
- Dundee United have a slightly worse record. Two defeats and a draw through three matches.
- BTTS has been a winner in every Dundee United game. It has been a winner in two of three for Dundee. Equating to 87% on the season so far.
- Over 2.5 Goals has been a winner four times in six matches. Dundee United have hit that number all three times. Dundee just the once.
Both Teams to Score
In most cases, we can ignore the form when previewing a derby match. Neither Dundee nor United have shown their best yet, and I expect these teams to hold their own in the division. But what will happen on Sunday before a packed stadium and a large television audience?
We place our trust in the trends, backing both teams to score. With this approach, it doesn’t matter which team wins or who scores. As long as Dundee and Dundee United claim at least one goal each, you’re onto a winner.
The head-to-head stats show a bet on both teams to score would’ve earned you a profit in three of the four meetings last term, and in four of the previous five. That run stretches back to a four-goal draw in April 2022.
So far this season, the hosts have scored two and conceded three, while their opponents have scored four and conceded five. Place the bet and hope Sunday’s renewal lives up to the hype.

Match Result - Draw
Moving into the match-winner market in the hope of landing a bigger price, we’re backing the draw. Pressley’s men finished goalless at Rugby Park last weekend and battled to an impressive draw at Ibrox when taking the lead before conceding late. Those draws came after Hibs left this venue with a narrow 2-1 win on matchday one.
Looking at Dundee United, they’ve played one game fewer than their hosts. Goodwin’s side began the season with a 2-2 draw at the home of recently promoted Falkirk, and fought for a 2-2 away to Rapid Vienna in the Conference League.
They lost 3-2 to Hearts after a 94th-minute winner for the Jambos, drew 2-2 with Vienna at Tannadice, before dropping a 2-1 at Kilmarnock. Following a rest, United will arrive fit and ready to do battle. I’m happy to sit on the fence and try another draw at attractive odds.
