Doncaster are 9/5 to win this match in 90 minutes, giving them a 35.7% chance of victory. Huddersfield are 11/10 to get the three points, which gives them an implied probability of 47.6%. If you think this match will be settled by penalties, the draw can be backed at 13/5 (27.8%).
Both teams to score is available at 8/15 and over 2.5 goals is marketed at 8/13.
Team News
James Maxwell and Richard Wood remain out of action for Doncaster, with both players having undergone surgery recently. Wood is set to be sidelined for several weeks as a result.
Ben Close could mark his return from injury in this clash, which will give manager Grant McCann a boost in the middle of the park. Tom Nixon should be okay to feature in defence again after being forced off in the Carabao Cup defeat to Everton a week ago.
After scoring twice and providing an assist in the weekend's triumph over Port Vale, Luke Molyneux will head into this clash full of confidence, and is the danger man the Terriers need to worry about.
For Huddersfield, Joe Hodge scored from the bench at the weekend to give his side the lead, only to lose 2-1 to Rotherham United. The Republic of Ireland youth international could be given his full debut by Michael Duff on Tuesday.
Striker Rhys Healey was not involved in the squad at the weekend and his inclusion for this match is in doubt, but the former Watford man could be in line for a recall if there is no physical problem. David Kasumu has been ruled out for at least a month with an ankle issue.
Despite being expected to sit out for several weeks with a shoulder injury, Brodie Spencer was called up to the Northern Ireland squad for the September international break
Huddersfield and both teams to score @ 13/5
Both teams have enjoyed strong starts to the season, so they will both fancy their chances of starting strongly in this competition. With Huddersfield being in a division higher than the hosts, they will be seen as the favourites here.
I am inclined to agree, although Donny will make life difficult for them at the Keepmoat Stadium. The hosts have netted nine goals in four League 2 matches so far and five of them have come on home soil. Duff and his players will know this and will be wary of the threat Doncaster pose in their own backyard.
There is quality among both ranks, but I am expecting the Terriers' to shine through here and they should be able to edge this contest in 90 minutes. West Ham United loanee Callum Marshall has started his spell brightly with two goals to his name, while Ben Wiles and Josh Koroma have netted the same number as the forward.
Then when you add in the likes of Hodge, who will be itching for his first start, and Anthony Evans, who shone at Bristol Rovers last year, Huddersfield have the individuals who can be the difference on Tuesday. I am expecting Donny to put up one hell of a fight, though.
Over 3.5 goals at 13/8
Having already mentioned that I think there will be goals on offer in this match, I think over 3.5 goals at 13/8 is certainly worth considering. Both teams have started excellently in the league and goals haven't been an issue for them.
Huddersfield have netted six in League 1 but none of their matches has seen over 3.5 goals land. However, their Carabao Cup second round defeat to Walsall was, as they were beaten 3-2 by the League 2 outfit.
The Saddlers have been going well in the fourth tier, as have Doncaster. Rovers have seen at least four goals scored in three of their four league matches thus far, with the latest coming at the weekend against the Valiants. Huddersfield will be facing another tough opponent from the division below and I think this means we could be in for another goal-fest.
