Denmark vs Sweden Bet Builder Tips: Blackstenius to profit in 17/2 shot

Denmark and Sweden begin their Uefa Women's European Championship campaign when they square up against each other at Stade de Geneve on Friday (17:00 BST, ITVX). This will be the third meeting between the two teams in 2025, with Sweden winning on both occasions in the Uefa Nations League by an aggregate scoreline of 8-2.

The Danes will be hoping to turn the tables on the bigger stage but they are going to need to be at their very best to exact their revenge. Read on for my Denmark vs Sweden Bet Builder Tips, which pay out at 17/2.

Sweden to win

Having beaten Denmark twice already this calendar year, Sweden should be feeling confident ahead of their Group C opener on Friday. The 6-1 thrashing is still rather fresh, having taken place on June 3, so Denmark will be hoping they can tighten things up at the back this time around.

The Blagult are unbeaten in their past 10 matches in all competitions, too, with their last defeat coming at the hands of Switzerland in December 2023. This should also give them great confidence ahead of their Euros opener, especially against a side they comfortably dispatched only a month ago.

This is a huge game to start Group C because they are in the same group as Germany, who are one of the pre-tournament favourites to go all the way in Switzerland this summer.

Both teams face a huge test against Germany so this opening clash is arguably a must-win for Denmark and Sweden, as it may just be the difference in qualification for the knockout stage.

Given Sweden have bested Denmark twice in recent months, with the latest still being very fresh, I think they will get their Euros campaign off to a flying start.

Over 3.5 goals 

The next leg of my Bet Builder focuses on goals and seeing as we were treated to seven the last time these two sides met, I think more could flow on Friday. Sweden's attacking players were absolutely ruthless as they fired six goals past their Scandinavian rivals.

You'd think Denmark will have learned a few lessons in the four weeks that have passed since that heavy defeat, so I don't think there will be quite as many goals on this occasion. However, Sweden do have some very exciting attacking players in the likes of Stina Blackstenius and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd to name a couple, so I think it is worth backing over 3.5 goals on Friday across both teams.

This has been a winning selection in two of Denmark's last five matches in all competitions, and the same return applies to Sweden. I think the Danes will focus on being defensively solid but Sweden have the quality to break them down and this could end up being another comfortable victory.

Stina Blackstenius to score two or more goals

Arsenal attacker Blackstenius was the star of the show when the two sides met in June as she netted a hat-trick, and she will be relishing the chance to play Denmark again in the hopes of opening her Euros account early.

Denmark will probably look to double up on her in this clash given the impact she had last time but I think she possesses the quality to handle such situations, and not to mention she is going to be supported by some very talented individuals, such as Madelen Janogy and Kosovare Asllani.

I can see her playing a huge role in this fixture again, so I'm backing her to find the net at least twice on Friday.
