Denmark vs Serbia Prediction: Hosts can edge another win

Denmark entertain Serbia in the Uefa Nations League on Sunday, looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Switzerland on Thursday. A much-changed Serbia squad was able to hold European Champions Spain to a goalless draw last time out, which should give them confidence for this clash.

Denmark are 8/11, or a 57.9% chance to win this match. Serbia are valued at 18/5 to take the three points, giving them an implied probability of 21.7%. The draw can be backed at 11/4 (26.7%).
Over 2.5 goals is on offer at 11/10 and both teams to score is available at 1/1. Patrick Dorgu and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg were the scorers for Denmark last time out anf they are 4/1 and 11/2 respectively to score anytime on Sunday.
Team News
Following the international retirements of Simon Kjaer and Thomas Delaney after the Euros, an opportunity will arise for the new blood in Denmark's ranks. Young wing-back Dorgu made his debut from the bench against Switzerland and scored his first goal within a minute, so he could be in contention to start here.
The Danes have had quite a few injuries to contend with, resulting in withdrawals from the squad. This includes Rasmus Hojlund, Andreas Christensen, Joakim Maehle and Matt O'Riley. Maurits Kjaergaard was called up as the latter's replacement, only to come down with an injury himself, presenting an opportunity for Brentford's Mathias Jensen.
Serbia are looking very different themselves to the squad we saw at the Euros. Dusan Tadic has retired, while Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dusan Vlahovic, Filip Kostic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are not in the picture, which has begged many questions from fans.
Milos Veljkovic and Nemanja Maksimovic are also both out injured and part of the 11 Euros squad members who have been dropped.
Denmark to win @ 8/11
I am expecting a tight contest here but I do believe Denmark can win again. The Danes have won 11 of their last 12 matches on home soil so they will be feeling very confident heading to the Friends Arena on Sunday.
They made tough work of it against the Swiss after having an extra man for much of the second half due to Nico Elvedi's sending off, before they were reduced down to nine men in the 87th minute as Granit Xhaka was then dismissed.
Serbia's goalless draw with Spain suggests that they are going to be very difficult to break down, perhaps even tougher than Switzerland, so Denmark are going to have to be precise and clinical when they have the ball. Seeing as they eventually found their way through in their last match, I'm confident they can do the same again here.
Under 1.5 goals @ 2/1
With that in mind, I don't think we will be blessed with too many goals in this one. Denmark just about managed to get on the scoresheet in against Switzerland while Serbia's last match produced no goals, impressive given the attacking talent Spain faced them with.
Both these teams set themselves up to be very stubborn defensively and that makes them hard to break down, often frustrating the teams they are up against. I expect they are both going to be on the receiving end of their own tricks, and I think it will limit the amount of clear-cut chances that we see.
I have mentioned above that I do see Denmark winning this game, but I cannot see it being comfortable, so I think that this could very much be a 1-0 kind of game.
