Crystal Palace vs Everton Bet Builder Tips: Tarkowski to try his luck again in 7/1 Selhurst shot

Crystal Palace and Everton are in action at Selhurst Park in the Premier League's Saturday evening offering, live on Sky Sports Main Event at 17:30. Three points separate the Eagles (12th) and the Toffees (15th), so a victory for the visitors here would see them go level with their south London counterparts and push them completely out of the relegation picture.

Crystal Palace vs Everton Odds

Total Goals - Under 2.5

Neither Crystal Palace nor Everton are particularly free-scoring sides; only four clubs, including the Toffees who are the Premier League's joint-third lowest scorers this season with 25 goals, have struck fewer times in the English top flight than the Eagles (28) in 2024/25.

David Moyes' charges are the division's lowest-scoring team on their travels, with seven goals in 11 away games three fewer than the next worst side Southampton.

Head-to-heads between Palace and Everton in recent years haven't been awash with goals either as four of the last six meetings, dating back to April 2023, have gone under 2.5, including three of the previous four - albeit two of those were in the FA Cup last season.

Under 2.5 total goals has been a winner in six of Palace's seven matches this calendar year and five of Everton's eight, as well as eight of the Blues' last 12.

Everton and Palace are joint-top of the under 2.5 goals table with 58 per cent (14) of their 24 league games ending with two or fewer strikes, so backing under 2.5 makes a whole lot of sense on Saturday.

Total Booking Points - Under 39.5

You can file most of the recent meetings between these two teams as 'low key'.

Just two cards have been awarded in each of the last two games between Palace and Everton with the Toffees responsible for both in their 2-1 win over the Eagles at Goodison Park in September and the south Londoners claiming both in a 1-1 draw on Merseyside last February.

Both sides rank lowly in the Premier League yellow card table; Everton are 13th with 50 cautions, and Palace 16th with 48. The Blues are averaging 2.1 yellows per game while Palace are down slightly at two, so I think there's a great chance of us going below 39.5 booking points on Saturday.

With Betfred, a yellow amounts to 10 bookings points, so this line would land even if there are three yellows shown at Selhurst Park.

Of course, reds come into it, too, but the Blues have only received two in 24 league matches this season, while Palace have only been brandished with one in their direction.

Football Odds

Player Shots - James Tarkowski (EVE) 1+

The first of two player shot selections, I'm backing Wednesday night's Merseyside derby hero James Tarkowski to register at least one attempt in SE12.

The Everton defender popped up at the back post in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage-time against Liverpool at Goodison Park and lashed home to level the scores at 2-2 and send the stadium into pandemonium.

It was the 32-year-old's only shot of the game and he's averaging one every two in the Premier League this season, but he has managed one in three of his last four league appearances, and in September's reverse fixture with Palace, he saw a header blocked in the 14th minute.

He'll be on a high after his midweek heroics and he can take that confidence into Saturday's contest.

Player Shots - Daniel Munoz (CRY) 1+

I've also picked Palace wing-back Daniel Munoz to try his luck at least once this weekend.

The Colombian has been integral to the recent success of Oliver Glasner's side, who have won their last four games in all competitions. Munoz has had a direct hand in a goal in his last three matches, registering an assist against Brentford and Manchester United before opening the scoring in Monday night's 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup fourth round.

He shot twice at the Eco-Power Stadium and once against Brentford and Man United with his shots-per-game average for the Premier League season at 0.9.

Munoz had two shots saved by Jordan Pickford at Goodison earlier in the campaign and will look to test England's number one again this weekend.
