Crystal Palace and Arsenal did battle at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup, and the Gunners came out on top, securing an enthralling 3-2 win thanks to a Gabriel Jesus hat-trick. That has put Mikel Arteta’s men into the semi-finals of that competition, as they hope to win their first trophy in five years.

Anyway, back to the Premier League this weekend, where Arsenal will face the same opposition, this time at Selhurst Park. Below you can find my Crystal Palace vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips.

Arsenal to win

I will back the Gunners to win this game, for a number of reasons. Mainly though, because they are a better football team than Crystal Palace. They managed to secure a victory on home soil in midweek despite resting a number of key stars, and Jesus scored a hat-trick as Kai Havertz was left on the bench.

Arsenal have only won three of their eight away games so far, but they are unbeaten in their last nine encounters in all competitions. Arteta will want to close the gap on Liverpool, which currently stands at six points, and the title is clearly still up for grabs as we enter the busy festive period. Away win.

BTTS No

I’ll also back Arsenal to keep a clean sheet, which may seem like a rogue shout given Crystal Palace scored two goals against them on Wednesday night. However, it was a completely different back four, with Thomas Partey at right-back and the forgotten man Kieran Tierney at left-back. With Gabriel and William Saliba both set to return to the centre of defence, I’d expect to see a far stronger showing from Arsenal’s resilient back line.

Now Palace have scored in their last six games, but Arsenal have conceded just 15 goals this term. I think they can come out and keep a clean sheet at Selhurst Park.

Kai Havertz to score

Arsenal gave Jesus a chance to show his worth in midweek and he proved he could still contribute, but I don’t think it will be enough to earn him a start. Instead, Havertz should be given the nod in the number nine role as Arteta reverts back to his prefered XI.

The German has been more prolific than many would give him credit for this term, with 10 goals in 23 total appearances. Five of those have come in the Premier League and he last found the net in the away win at West Ham. I’ve just got a feeling that against a leaky defence, Havertz can find the net.

Jefferson Lerma to get booked

Jefferson Lerma is always a go-to man when it comes to picking up a yellow card and I think he could be in a bit of trouble once again here. The combative midfielder has already picked up four yellow cards and I think up against this tricky Arsenal midfield he is going to have to get stuck in.

Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice are two of the finest midfielders in the league, and they should be able to exert some control over Palace here. This takes our Bet Builder to 14/1.
