The FA Cup third round gets underway on Thursday night at Selhurst Park, as Crystal Palace host Everton in an all-Premier League tie.

The two teams ended 2023 separated by just three places and five points in the top-flight standings, with Palace in 14th spot, while the Blues are hovering above the relegation zone in 17th.

In addition, both sides will be hoping for better showings in this season's FA Cup, as they were eliminated in the third round last year to Southampton and Manchester United respectively.

Crystal Palace vs Everton Prediction

  • Everton to win to nil (90 mins) @ 7/2
  • Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score anytime (90 mins) @ 12/5

Team News

For the hosts, Sam Johnstone has a calf problem, so he is a doubt for this clash, meaning that Dean Henderson will likely start between the sticks.

Meanwhile, Rob Holding, Michael Olise, Joel Ward and Cheick Doucoure are all ruled out with injury for the Eagles.

As for Everton, top scorer Abdoulaye Doucoure will be absent after missing the last few games with a thigh injury, while Ashley Young and Idrissa Gueye remain on the treatment table.

Match Odds

With this being a cup tie, 90-minute betting applies.

Crystal Palace are 8/5 to win, while Everton are 7/4 and the draw is priced up at 9/4.

Both teams to score can be backed at 4/5, and Everton won both of their away matches in the Carabao Cup by a 2-1 scoreline - a repeat of that is 9/1.

Everton to win to nil (90 mins) @ 7/2

The FA Cup will provide a welcome distraction for Everton, after their 10-point deduction in the Premier League, and Sean Dyche has the opportunity to take the Toffees on another cup run, after reaching the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, only to be knocked out on penalties by Fulham.

Dyche's side have been solid on the road, picking up seven victories in all competitions including a 3-2 against Palace in November.

Meanwhile, the Eagles have struggled at home this term, winning just two games at Selhurst Park, and they have failed to score in four of their 10 home games - only Burnley have failed to score in more.

In addition, shot-shy Palace will have to get through a stern Everton backline that has kept seven clean sheets across all competitions.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score anytime (90 mins) @ 12/5

Everton have a striker in Dominic Calvert-Lewin who seems to relish coming up against Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old has scored five goals in nine starts against Roy Hodgson's side, but has not scored in either of their last two encounters, so he is due a goal against one of his favoured opponents.

His last goal came in the 1-0 win away from home against West Ham United in the Premier League in October, so he'll be desperate to make his mark here.
