Cristiano Ronaldo Next Club Odds: Could 2025 Fifa Club World Cup dictate CR7’s next move?

Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristian Ronaldo set tongues wagging on Monday when he took to his 'X' account and wrote: "This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all." Given the Portuguese superstar's contract at Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr expires at the end of next month, many have interpreted his message as a goodbye to the club he joined in January 2023.
The question now is: where next for the former Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward? Fifa president Gianni Infantino recently suggested that the 40-year-old could be signing for a team appearing at this summer's Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14. Below, I take a look at the Cristiano Ronaldo Next Club Odds, but bear in mind, this centres around where he will be contracted after the English football summer transfer window closes on September 1, 2025.

Cristiano Ronaldo Next Club Odds
Al-Hilal @ 1/1
A move to Saudi Pro League rivals Al-Hilal might cause consternation amongst the Al-Nassr faithful, but it would mean Ronaldo can stay put in Riyadh, as well as appear at this year's Club World Cup.
Al-Hilal have won six of the last nine league titles in Saudi Arabia, but they failed to mount a proper defence of their crown in 2024/25, ending the season eight points behind champions Al-Ittihad, and they could be after a superstar signing following Neymar's move back to Brazil in January.
There's little for Ronaldo to prove individually in the Saudi Pro League, having beaten Ivan Toney and Karim Benzema to the Golden Boot earlier this month, but he failed to lift the league title during his three-year spell with Al-Nassr, and so a move to the division's most successful club, Al-Hilal, could appeal.
Any MLS Team @ 3/1
Could Ronaldo join his old foe, Lionel Messi, in the USA? Messi moved Stateside in 2023, joining David Beckham's Inter Miami, and in his first full season, the Argentine helped his side win the Supporters' Shield as they finished eight points ahead of their nearest opponents, the Columbus Crew.
Inter Miami are one of two MLS clubs guaranteed to be at the Club World Cup next month, with LAFC, who take on Club America in a play-off this weekend, looking to join the Herons and Seattle Sounders in the 32-team tournament.
The idea of Ronaldo linking up with Messi is fanciful, for a whole host of reasons, but a move to LAFC, who haven't had a world superstar in their ranks since Gareth Bale retired more than two years ago, has its perks.
They might not make the Club World Cup, but if Ronaldo fancies a crack at America, Los Angeles, and LAFC specifically, could come under serious consideration.
Sporting Lisbon @ 7/2
Ronaldo has already made one emotional return in his career, rejoining Manchester United ahead of local rivals Manchester City in 2021. That was a decision that backfired, both for player and club, though, and he left Old Trafford in disgrace one-and-a-half seasons into his second era at the club.
Sporting, Ronaldo's first professional club, aren't anywhere near as much of a basket case as the Red Devils, having won the Primeira Liga title in back-to-back seasons. But can they afford to bring back one of the world's best-paid players?
You would think there would have to be some very clever maneuvering of finances to make that move happen, unless Ronaldo suddenly decides to be charitable and forego much of what he could earn elsewhere.
It would be a fairytale move, but not one I can see happening, even at this stage of his career.

CF Monterrey @ 4/1
Mexican giants Monterrey signed Ronaldo's former teammate, Sergio Ramos, earlier this year, and a move for Ronaldo would really signal their intent.
Rayados are another club at this year's Club World Cup, so a short-term switch could appeal, but does Ronaldo have any desire to play for them past the summer? I'm not convinced.
Botafogo RJ @ 9/1
Botafogo are one of four Brazilian participants at the 2025 CWC, and the 2024 Copa Libertadores winners might fancy adding a big-name to their roster.
There have been some high-profile additions to the Brazilian Serie A over the last couple of years, with Philippe Coutinho, Neymar and Thiago Silva all returning to their homeland, while there has been a noticeable upturn in the number of Europeans plying their trade in Brazil. Memphis Depay, Dimitri Payet and Martin Braithwaite are three such players to have made the move to South America, but bringing Ronaldo over would be next level.
Napoli @ 14/1
Been there, done that. Ronaldo enjoyed success in Italy with Juventus, and with Kevin De Bruyne hotly-tipped to join Napoli once his Man City contract expires next month, it's difficult to see Antonio Conte's side adding another ageing and expensive star to their squad.
Galatasaray @ 20/1
Turkey has been a popular destination for players winding down their careers, with Didier Drogba, Wesley Sneijder and Radamel Falcao among the world-class talents that have ended up there. All three players opted for the country's most successful club, Galatasaray, and they're certainly the club to beat right now, having won the last three Super Lig titles.
