The Championship’s featured game, live on Sky Sports on Sunday (12:00), sees Coventry City host Millwall at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The Sky Blues will look to get back to winning ways in the league, having booked their place in round five of the FA Cup in midweek, with a 4-1 success over Sheffield Wednesday. Meanwhile Millwall are hoping to stop the rot after five games without a win.

Below we have previewed the clash and come up with a couple of betting selections for you to consider.

Coventry vs Millwall Tips

  • Coventry to win and over 2.5 goals @ 2/1
  • Haji Wright to score anytime @ 15/8

Team News

After a late ‘challenge’ by Sheffield Wednesday’s Di’Shon Bernard, Jamie Allen has been left with a fractured cheekbone which requires surgery. He is having a titanium plate fitted, and will be out for six weeks as a result. It’s bad news for Mark Robins, who is also without central midfielder Ben Sheaf for six weeks. It means January signing Victor Torp is likely to partner Josh Eccles in the centre of the park.

For Millwall, Kevin Nisbet may well be out for the rest of the season, while Ryan Leonard is likely to be back in the squad for this one after recovering from his hamstring tear. January signings Japhet Tanganga, Michael Obafemi and Adam Mayor are all fit to play some part at the CBS Arena.

Match Odds

Coventry are priced at 4/5 to win this game, while Millwall are 7/2 to take all three points. A draw is on offer at 11/4, BTTS is 10/11 and over 2.5 goals is EVS

Coventry to win and over 2.5 goals @ 2/1

Coventry lost their last league fixture, away at Norwich City, a defeat that ended a run of 12 matches unbeaten. Despite that loss, their home form is exceptional, and they haven’t tasted defeat on home soil since 30 October, a run that has now lasted ten matches in all competitions.

They’ve beaten league leaders Leicester City and since switching to a back four, they have looked like a completely different outfit. Now on the fringes of the play-offs, Coventry should be able tear apart a Millwall side who are now in a relegation battle.

Joe Edwards is trying to get his side to be more confident on the ball, but they now haven’t won in five games. The reverse fixture, his first home game at the Den, ended in a 3-0 defeat, and I can see a similar scoreline unfolding here.

Cov to wi over 2.5 goals

Haji Wright to score anytime @ 15/8

Coventry have been sharing the goals around this season, but now fully fit, Haji Wright is without a doubt their biggest threat. Having scored in the cup win over Sheffield Wednesday, the big American is full of confidence and should enjoy playing against a leaky Millwall defence.

He’s been deployed on the left-wing in recent months but could start as the number nine here, after flourishing in that role in midweek. As a result, and as Coventry’s key man, he should be able to find the net here. The 15/8 on offer here marks excellent value in my eyes.
