Coventry vs Hull

After an agonising defeat on penalties to Manchester United in one of the most enthralling FA Cup semi finals for some time, Coventry return to Championship action against Hull, and the Sky Blues must take all three points if they are to keep their play-off hopes alive.

Nothing could separate the two sides in the reverse fixture at the MKM Stadium back in September, with goals from Joel Latibeaudiere and Aaron Connolly cancelling each other out in a 1-1 draw. Despite losing four of their last five matches, Coventry’s heroics at the weekend should give them renewed confidence and they could claim an important victory over a side with similar top-six aspirations.

Team News

Sky Blues manager Mark Robins remains without the services of Jamie Allen, with his broken cheekbone expected to keep him out of action for at least another couple of weeks, while Tatsuhiro Sakamoto is out for the season with a back issue.

The starting line-up from the weekend could be tinkered with given that 120 minutes were played, so the likes of Fabio Tavares, Victor Torp and Matty Godden could all come into the starting line-up.

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior will be without January loan signing Anass Zaroury for their trip to the Midlands, with the Moroccan unlikely to return until early May from a groin strain.

Changes to the front line are expected after Hull’s goalless draw with Watford last time out, with striker Liam Delap in the running to start ahead of Ozan Tufan, who missed a penalty.

Match Odds

The hosts are favourites to claim all three points at 5/4 whereas the Tigers are at 21/10 to land a vital victory at the CBS Arena.

The draw can be backed at 5/2 while Coventry striker Ellis Simms is favourite to open the scoring at 11/2.

Coventry to win @ 5/4

Although their recent form is not too promising, having lost to both Southampton and Birmingham in their last two league appearances, Coventry have looked stronger in front of their own fans with just three defeats at the CBS Arena all season.

Hull, meanwhile, have won just one of their last four on the road and they have failed to score in two of those fixtures at Preston and Watford. They could, therefore, find things difficult when playing against a playoff-chasing rival.

Coventry to win at 5/4 Haji Wright to score anytime @ 13/8

No Coventry player has registered more goal contributions in the Championship this season than Haji Wright, who has netted 15 goals and grabbed six assists, and the American could build on this tally on Wednesday night.

The 26-year-old netted from the spot to level the tie at Wembley on Sunday, ending a two-game goal drought, and he makes plenty of appeal at 13/8 to grab another goal.
