Manchester United need FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray to draw to have any chance of making it through to the knockout phase of the Champions League.

But a stalemate will send the hosts into the last-16 as long as the inconsistent Red Devils do not win against already-confirmed Group A winners Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

Galatasaray know they must take all three points to progress, but Okan Buruk’s side could not beat the Danes in Istanbul on Matchday One and are winless in their last three group fixtures.

Copenhagen vs Galatasaray Prediction

  • Galatasaray to win @ 13/10
  • Second Half Result - Galatasaray @ 13/8

Team news

Copenhagen look set to be without injured quartet David Khocholava, William Clem, Birger Meling and Khouma Babacar, who all missed their 2-1 win at Silkeborg on Saturday.

Viktor Claesson is expected to return up front, ahead of Mohamed Elyounoussi and Roony Bardghji in the same attacking formation that was deployed for last month’s 0-0 draw with Bayern.

Hakim Ziyech missed Galatasaray’s 3-1 win over Adana Demirspor on Friday, but it was thought to be only precautionary and he should make the starting XI in Denmark.

He could replace Brazilian winger Tete, with Victor Nelsson and Abdulkerim Bardakci keeping Davinson Sanchez out in central defence, despite the Colombian’s recovery from a hamstring problem.

Match odds

Copenhagen can be backed at 13/8 for the victory, while Galatasaray are 13/10 to take the spoils and the draw comes in at 12/5.

Galatasaray to win @ 13/10

The Turkish champions are in better form than Copenhagen, who have lost three and drawn two of their last six games.

Although Jacob Neestrup’s side won at the weekend, the 2-1 victory was not enough to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit in the cup and they crashed out of the competition.

Their thrilling 4-3 comeback over United in early November was their first Champions League group stage win since 2016 and it was heading for an easy win for the visitors until Marcus Rashford’s controversial red card.

Gala have won eight of their last 10 away games, including a 3-2 Old Trafford stunner that illustrated their never-say-die spirit and should benefit from knowing that only victory will do.

Second Half Result - Galatasaray @ 13/8

Galatasaray have produced the last goal in four of their five Group A games and outscored their opponents after the break in three of the contests

They have been strong finishers in domestic action this term too with a 12-2 goal difference in the league from the hour mark onwards.

The early stages of this encounter could be cagey as the teams wait to see which way the wind blows at Old Trafford, but Galatasaray have to force the pace at some stage and are likely to be pushing the hardest in the second period.

Kerem Akturkoglu to score Anytime @ 23/10

The Turkey international has been in superb form all season and can add to his home-and-away strikes against United in this must-win clash.

The attacking midfielder warmed up for this contest with a goal and an assist on Friday night.
