Chelsea have one foot in the Women’s Champions League semi-finals after a comprehensive 3-0 win at Ajax last week. To see the job through, they welcome the Dutch side to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night (20:00) for the second-leg.

Lauren James opened the scoring and Sjoeke Nusken bagged a couple as head coach Emma Hayes moved one step closer to a dream European final before heading for pastures new. Below are our Chelsea Women vs Ajax Women predictions, featuring match odds and team news.

Chelsea Women vs Ajax Women Betting Tips

  • Chelsea to win and both teams to score No @ 13/10
  •  Under 3.5 Goals @ 10/11

Team News

Mayra Ramirez and Fran Kirby have returned from injury and should be on the bench for Chelsea.

Hayes is still without Millie Bright, Mia Fishel and Sam Kerr.

Ajax will be buoyed by the return from suspension of central defender and captain Sherida Spitse. However, Lily Yohannes has replaced her in the sin-bin, the 16-year-old missing out at the Bridge after picking up a second yellow card of the competition last week.

Daliyah de Klonia will continue at left-back in Suzanne Bakker’s preferred 4-3-3 in the absence of the injured Ashleigh Weerden.

Match Odds

Chelsea are 2/9 to complete the double over Ajax by winning the second leg at Stamford Bridge. Ajax are 15/2 with the draw a 5/1 chance.

Another 3-0 scoreline in favour of the Blues is a 7/1 chance.

Chelsea to win & both teams to score No @ 13/10

Chelsea were worthy winners at the Johan Cruyff Arena and it is nigh-on impossible to see Ajax making a game of it in London.

The Dutch side have been solid at home in Europe but boast a pretty poor away record which doesn’t augur well for this assignment. They have managed just one win in their last seven Champions League away ties.

You almost need to ignore what Ajax are doing to other clubs domestically because this is a major step up and on the evidence of the first game it’s a step they aren’t quite ready to take.

Indeed, of more relevance is Chelsea’s excellent defensive record. Not only have the London hot-shots won six in a row and 13 of their last 14 in all competitions, but critically they have kept clean sheets in ten of their last 12. Two goals conceded is impressive - and one of those was an own goal!

Chelsea and both teams to score no at 13/10

Under 3.5 Goals @ 10/11

Six of Chelsea’s last eight games have featured three goals or fewer as they don’t always convince in turning possession into chances.

And they have no need to turn on the style with Hayes, already short-handed because of injuries, making sure there are no traumas before Saturday’s trip to Arsenal in the Super League. Under 3.5 delivered in Amsterdam and may well do so again in London.

Under 3.5 goals at 10/11
