Sunday sees the Club World Cup final take place in New Jersey as Chelsea face the seemingly unstoppable monster that is PSG at the MetLife Stadium (20:00 BST, live on Betfred). The European champions hammered Real Madrid 4-0 in their semi-final, but Chelsea have defied the odds in key finals before, and will hope to do so again in this one.

Below you can find my Chelsea vs PSG predictions featuring team news and betting tips.

Team News

Moises Caidcedo has rejoined full training after his minor ankle issue, but Romeo Lavia and Dario Essugo are likely to miss out. Noni Madueke is off to Arsenal, Benoit Badiashile is a doubt and both Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Estevao are not eligible for this final.

However, one new arrival in the form of Joao Pedro can play, after he scored two goals on his full debut for his new club. He should get the nod ahead of Liam Delap once again, while Levi Colwill may also return to the defence. Pedro Neto is ready to feature along with Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku, with the latter likely to start out wide as he did in the semi.

Chelsea vs PSG Stats

  • PSG have conceded just one goal in their last eight
  • PSG have won nine of their last 11
  • Chelsea have only played one European team (Benfica) in their run to the final

Meanwhile PSG are still without both Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez, both of whom were sent off in the quarter-final win over Bayern Munich. We should see Luis Enrique name an unchanged XI from the team that hammered Real Madrid, with Lucas Beraldo starting at centre-back alongside Marquinhos.

Fabian Ruiz scored twice and will start in midfield alongside Vitinha and Joao Neves while Ousmane Dembele played for an hour and scored on his steady return from injury. Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will join him in attack, leaving Bradley Barcola on the bench alonside Goncalo Ramos.

Chelsea vs PSG Odds

Chelsea are 4/1 to win this final in 90 minutes, and 5/2 to lift the trophy. Meanwhile PSG are the heavy favourites at 4/7 to win in 90 and just 2/7 to end the evening as victors. A draw and extra time is priced at 16/5, while BTTS is 8/13.

Over 2.5 goals can be backed at 4/7, while Dembele is the favourite to open the scoring at 4/1. Cole Palmer can be backed at 8/1 to score first, and Betfred are offering Price Boosts and Bet Builder Boosts on this fixture, which you can find on the link above.

PSG -1 handicap @ 6/4

PSG should have no trouble hammering Chelsea in this final based on what we have seen from them in recent months. They are the best team in the world, of that I think there is now little doubt, and being crowned ‘world champions’ - cor, I feel a bit sick writing that - would be fitting. Enrique has crafted a wonderful team and time after time they have proven themselves to be far too good for Europe’s elite.

The 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid was impressive and the 2-0 win over Bayern Munich was professional, but the 4-0 hammering of Real Madrid last time out was frightening. They are just so much better than anybody else right now and I fear for Chelsea in this final. They’ve done well to get here but they have had an easy run, with their only European opponent so far being Benfica.

They needed extra time to get past the Portuguese outfit, while PSG managed 17 shots and an xG of 2.54 against Los Blancos. There is a clear difference between these two, and PSG are set to add another trophy to their growing collection.

talkSPORT Bet Builder - PSG to win, Dembele to score, Caicedo to be carded @ 10/1

I also like the look of this boosted Bet Builder, which backs PSG to win and Dembele to score to kick us off. The favourite for the Ballon d’Or will surely scoop this year’s award if PSG get over the line in this competition, even though he has mainly been limited to substitute appearances.

He’s now back fit enough to start, and scored against Real Madrid last time out to make it 35 goals in 52 appearances this season, even though he only got an hour on the pitch. I think he will play the 90 here and be able to find the net for our Bet Builder.

Let’s round off by backing Caicedo to pick up a yellow, given I believe he will start after his knock. He’s picked up 15 in total this season, and two in four Club World Cup appearances, while he’s likely to have his hands full with this PSG team. This is a great price in my eyes.
