The first London derby of the 2025/26 Premier League season takes place at Stamford Bridge on Sunday (14:00 BST, Sky Sports Main Event), as Chelsea take on Crystal Palace.

Both Teams to Score - Yes

We should be treated to at least a few goals on Sunday, with Chelsea and Palace each boasting several fearsome forwards.

The Blues are likely to start Cole Palmer and Joao Pedro, who scored 15 and 10 Premier League goals, respectively, last season, the latter for Brighton & Hove Albion before sealing a switch to west London.

Palace, meanwhile, can still call upon Eberechi Eze, who struck eight league goals in 2024/25, although it appears increasingly likely that his future lies away from the Eagles. Ismaila Sarr matched that tally for Oliver Glasner's side in his debut campaign, while top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta notched 14, two fewer than he managed in 2023/24.

BTTS-Yes has landed in the last five head-to-heads, including a pair of 1-1 draws last season, and looks like the most obvious play here.

Maxence Lacroix (CRY) Total Shots - 1+

Palace defender Maxence Lacroix only scored once in his maiden season for the club, but he was a player who regularly threatened.

The 25-year-old averaged 0.9 shots per game in the Premier League, a very solid return for a centre-back.

Today's Football Fixtures

Lacroix didn't play at Stamford Bridge, but at Selhurst Park, the Frenchman saw a long-range effort saved by Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Sunday's hosts have lost Levi Colwill to an ACL injury, meaning they will have to shuffle things around in defence, and that reorganisation strengthens my belief that Lacroix can get on the end of at least one delivery into the Blues' 18-yard box.

Player Shown Any Card - Will Hughes (CRY)

Liam Delap, Sasa Lukic and Flynn Downes were tied for the most yellow cards in the Premier League in 2024/25, with 12 yellow cards apiece, but Palace midfielder Will Hughes (11) was only one behind, despite only making 24 starts (33 appearances).

The 30-year-old averaged two fouls per game, and in his only season outing against Chelsea, committed three in just 50 minutes on the field, receiving a booking for the first of those offences.

Premier League Odds

That was Hughes' third card against the Blues in nine appearances, and second in his last three.

He should be in the thick of the action again on Sunday, with Daichi Kamada unable to feature due to injury.

Crystal Palace Total Tackles - Over 17.5

This selection has landed in the last six meetings, with Palace totting up 26 at Selhurst last season, and 19 at Stamford Bridge.

The Eagles made 17 in last Sunday's Community Shield success against Liverpool at Wembley, but we can expect the south London side to record at least one more this weekend as they look to stop Palmer, Joao Pedro & Co.
