Newcastle have conceded 29 away Premier League goals this term - only Sheffield United and Luton Town have shipped more - but the Magpies did find their scoring touch when hammering Wolves at St James’ Park last time out. Going for more goals looks the right play.

Bruno Guimaraes to be shown a card

Bruno Guimaraes has been shown 14 yellow cards in a Newcastle shirt this season and the combative midfielder could see plenty of action at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea enjoyed 77 per cent possession when these sides clashed in the League Cup at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and Guimaraes picked up a caution in that west London contest.

The Blues are likely to boss the ball once again on Monday night and that could force the Brazilian into making plenty of challenges in a bid to break up the play. Any unsuccessful tackles or attempted interceptions could land the Newcastle man in trouble with referee John Brooks.
