Liverpool hope to claim the first of a potential four trophies at Wembley on Sunday afternoon (15:00), but they must overcome a series of key injuries to get the better of Chelsea.

The Blues are staring at another mid-table Premier League finish, but will be hopeful they can see off the Reds, who beat them 4-1 at Anfield last month.

Team News

Chelsea hope Thiago Silva will have shaken off a groin injury, but the Blues have a host of other players who are sidelined, which includes Marc Cucurella, Romeo Lavia, Reece James and Wesley Fofana.

Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Dominik Szoboszlai face late fitness tests, but Diogo Jota, Alisson and Trent Alexander-Arnold have all been ruled out.

Liverpool are gunning for the first silverware in their quadruple bid, but injuries have hit them at an unfortunate time and they could be surprised by Chelsea at Wembley.

The Reds beat the Londoners 4-1 at the end of last month, but Chelsea looked to have turned the corner since with wins at Aston Villa and Crystal Palace as well as a strong performance in a 1-1 draw at Manchester City.

The Reds are desperate for Salah to be fit as they already have to do without goalkeeper Alisson, forward Jota as well as one of their most prominent creative influences, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Seven of the last eight games between these two sides have ended in draws, so it makes sense to take potential extra-time and penalties into account and back Mauricio Pochettino’s side to lift the trophy.

#PickYourPunt - Under 3.5 goals, Raheem Sterling to score anytime & over 19.5 Chelsea booking points @ 13/2

While Liverpool won last month’s meeting 4-1, the tension of a cup final should lead to fewer goals and eight of the last 10 games between these two have failed to generate more than two goals, so go for under 3.5 goals as the first element of a #PickYOurPunt selection.

Raheem Sterling netted Chelsea’s goal against Manchester City last week and he could pop up with a vital strike against another of his former clubs. The Blues can also be relied upon to pick up at least two yellow cards, something that has happened in seven of their last eight matches.
