Preston North End welcome Queens Park Rangers to Deepdale in the Championship on Friday (15:00, Sky Sports+), with the hosts unbeaten in their previous 14 matches on home soil in the second tier. They are a point behind the visitors coming into this clash.

The Rs ended a run of six consecutive away defeats on their latest road trip at Oxford United, and they will look to build on that against the Lilywhites. Read on for my Preston vs QPR predictions, aided by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Preston have no fresh injury concerns coming into Friday, but Josh Seary remains out of action with a knee issue, while Ali McCann has been missing from the past seven squads in the league.

It's been reported that midfielder Ryan Ledson will be departing Deepdale in the summer when his contract expires, bringing a seven-year stay with the Lilywhites to an end.

The 27-year-old has found his game time limited this campaign with just 24 Championship appearance, 13 of which were starts. He wasn't in the squad that lost to Leeds last Saturday and he could be one to miss out again when QPR come to town.

David Cornell is expected to feature between the sticks again, while he should be protected by Andre Hughes, Liam Gibson and Jordan Storey. Milutin Osmajic and Mads Frokjaer-Jensen partnered one another up front against Leeds and Paul Heckingbottom may be tempted to stick with the duo on Friday.

Preston vs QPR Stats

  • Preston have lost just two of their 21 home games in the Championship
  • BTTS has struck in Preston's past three home matches in the league

QPR's main injury concerns are in attacking areas as Zan Celar, Ilias Chair and Alfie Lloyd are all ruled out. As a result, Marti Cifuentes might name Karamoko Dembele, Nicolas Madsen and Koki Saito as the players to support striker Yang Min-hyeok in Lancashire.

Defender Jake Clarke-Salter is still recovering from a hip injury, so Southampton loanee Ronnie Edwards and Liam Morrison are expected to man the heart of the Rs' back line in PR1.

Jonathan Varane and Jack Colback were deployed in a double pivot in the draw with Bristol City last Saturday, and they look set to continue their partnership at Deepdale.

Preston vs QPR Odds

Preston have won just one of their last 10 league games but they are 13/10 to come out on top on Friday.

The Lilywhites have drawn five of their previous six Championship fixtures at Deepdale and the stalemate is on offer at 21/10, which has an implied probability of 32.3%.

QPR have just one victory from their past nine contests in the second tier, but that came on their latest away trip at Oxford United. They are 12/5 to come away with the three points here.

Four of the last five meetings between these clubs have featured fewer than three goals, and under 2.5 goals is available at 8/15.

Draw @ 21/10

It's hardly surprising to see me back the draw here because Preston are the draw kings of the Championship. No side has experienced more draws (19) than the Lilywhites this season, with 57% (12/21) coming on home soil.

I mentioned above that five of their past six contests here ended in a draw, including their past two outings, so this is a trend worth backing to continue. QPR's away form isn't the best but they come here unbeaten in their previous two fixtures, including a hard-fought draw with play-off contenders Bristol City last time out.

The Rs were victorious when they hosted Preston at Loftus Road back in December, but they now face a tough trip to Deepdale as the home side have lost just twice here this term.

The form of both sides heading into Friday isn't brilliant, so a point would be considered a good result for the two clubs.

Both teams to score @ 11/10

Both teams to score looks an attractive selection here, especially at 11/10. This is because QPR and Preston rank second and third respectively in the BTTS table in the Championship this campaign.

The Rs have seen goals at both ends in 52% (11/21) of their away fixtures in the second tier, including each of their previous three.

BTTS has struck in 57% (12/21) of Preston's home contests including their last three. It's surprising that the traders have given such a generous price for this market given how frequent it has featured for both these clubs in 2024/25.
