Norwich vs Oxford Prediction: Who wins relegation six-pointer?

Norwich City are desperate for a positive result in the Championship when they take on Oxford at Carrow Road on Tuesday (19:45, Sky Sports+). The Canaries lost 4-1 at Birmingham on Saturday in their first game under new manager Philippe Clement and only Sheffield Wednesday are below them in the table.

A home win over Oxford United would boost Norwich's survival chances as the U's, who drew 1-1 with promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough at the weekend, are only one point above the relegation zone. Below you can find my Norwich vs Oxford Predictions.

Team News

Norwich are still missing the injured Jeffrey Schlupp, Papa Diallo and Liam Gibbs but top scorer Josh Sargent should lead the line for the hosts and Matej Jurasek is likely to be available after illness.

Oxford captain Cameron Brannagan came off injured in the first half against Middlesbrough on Saturday so Will Vaulks may come into midfield. Matt Phillips and Brodie Spencer remain sidelined.

Today's Football Fixtures

Norwich vs Oxford Odds

Norwich are 9/10 to claim their first home league win of the season when they take on 13/5 visitors Oxford and the draw can be backed at 23/10 at Carrow Road.

Three of Norwich's seven home defeats were by a 2-1 scoreline and a 2-1 Oxford win can be backed at 11/1 in the correct-score market.

Draw @ 23/10

Norwich were hoping to make a flying start under new manager Philippe Clement but the Canaries' grim 2025-26 campaign continued with a 4-1 defeat at Birmingham on Saturday.

Next up, former Rangers boss Clement faces his first game at Carrow Road, where Norwich have lost all seven of their Championship matches this season.

Six of those seven losses were by a one-goal margin and five of them came against teams currently in the top 10 of the standings: Middlesbrough, Bristol City, Hull, Millwall and Leicester.

The visit of fellow strugglers Oxford should be a good opportunity for Norwich to break their duck but they make little appeal at odds-on as they find their feet under a new manager.

Oxford held Millwall and Boro to draws at home this month and all five of their away defeats were by a single goal so they should be competitive at Carrow Road.

Bet Builder - Will Lankshear to score, Harry Darling 1+ shot & Kellen Fisher to be shown a card @ 9/1

One reason for Oxford to be confident is the form of on-loan Tottenham striker Will Lankshear, who opened the scoring in his last two away games at Sheffield Wednesday and West Brom.

Lankshear can add to his tally of five Championship goals against a leaky Norwich defence featuring Harry Darling.

The former Swansea centre-back poses a massive aerial threat at set-pieces and he has had 10 attempts at goal in eight home appearances this season.

Norwich full-back Kellen Fisher looks a likely candidate to receive a card on Tuesday. The Canaries are under pressure after seven straight home defeats and Fisher has been cautioned in three of his last eight league starts.
