Championship Predictions: Rovers can secure a rare home win

Midweek action is back for the EFL Championship across Tuesday and Wednesday. It gives us football tipsters a chance to redeem ourselves after a rather poor showing over the weekend, with just 16 points collected between us.
Can we improve our totals from the weekend? Check out our Championship predictions for Gameweek 17 below.

Hull vs Ipswich (Tue 19:45) - 1-1 @ 6/1
Hull City were beaten at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday but they have the opportunity to get back on track when they host Ipswich Town on Tuesday. The Tigers are six games unbeaten on home soil, while Ipswich have been a stronger force when playing at home themselves.
The Tractor Boys have players of individual quality who can have an impact but I am drawn to a low-scoring stalemate here.
Nick: 1-2
Simon: 1-4
Middlesbrough vs Coventry (Tue 19:45) - 1-2 @ 8/1
The top two teams in the division collide at the Riverside as league leaders Coventry City head to Middlesbrough. The Sky Blues came from behind at home on Saturday to beat West Bromwich Albion, while Boro were held 1-1 at struggling Oxford United.
Kim Hellberg will take charge of Boro for the first time here following his appointment on Monday. This could be a tight affair, but Coventry's firepower should be enough to extend their lead at the summit.
Nick: 2-2
Simon: 1-1
Norwich vs Oxford (Tue 19:45) - 1-1 @ 11/2
Norwich City languish 23rd in the table and the Canaries suffered a 4-1 thrashing at Birmingham City on Saturday. They host Oxford United at Carrow Road, who sit 21st and will look to build on their point against Boro last time out.
You have the team with the worst home record against a side who don't do very well on their travels. Has a stalemate written all over it.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 1-0
Stoke vs Charlton (Tue 19:45) - 2-1 @ 7/1
After losing at Leicester City at the weekend, Stoke City will look to respond when they welcome Charlton Athletic to the bet365 Stadium. The Addicks were left shell-shocked on Saturday as they were beaten 5-1 at home to Southampton, which was their second defeat at The Valley in 2025.
I think the visitors might be a bit shaken here, which Stoke can profit from.

Swansea vs Derby (Tue 19:45) - 1-2 @ 11/1
Following three defeats in a row, Swansea City look like they could be sliding towards trouble. On Monday they announced Vitor Matos as their new boss and he has his work cut out to improve the Swans' fortunes.
Derby County make the trip to South Wales looking to bounce back from their 3-2 home defeat against Watford. The Rams were 2-0 up in the game and threw it away. They did win five in a row before that, though, so I fancy them to pick up the three points here.
Nick: 0-1
Simon: 2-3
Watford vs Preston (Tue 19:45) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Watford should be full of confidence after their recent comeback victory and the Hornets host Preston North End in midweek. The Lilywhites suffered a rare home defeat against rivals Blackburn Rovers on Friday and their home form has been better than their performances away.
The hosts have one of the strongest home forms in the division with five wins from eight games, and I think they will make it six from nine here.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 3-0
Southampton vs Leicester (Tue 20:00) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Southampton have sparked into life with their five-goal showing at Charlton. Maybe Will Still is not as good as social media was trying to tell us. The Saints have certainly had the resources to challenge at the top of the table and next up for them is a clash with fellow relegated side Leicester.
The Foxes have also had consistency issues and they have been susceptible to dropping points on their travels. I'm going for a narrow home win.
Nick: 2-2
Simon: 2-0
Blackburn vs QPR (Wed 19:45) - 2-1 @ 15/2
Fresh from taking down rivals Preston, Blackburn will hope to turn their home fortunes around when they take on QPR at Ewood Park. Rovers have now won four of their last five games in the second tier, while the Rs had lost three in a row before their current two-game unbeaten streak.
I have a feeling the hosts can land just their second home victory of the campaign.
Nick: 1-0
Simon: 1-0
Millwall vs Sheff Wednesday (Wed 19:45) - 2-0 @ 13/2
After suffering a 3-1 defeat at Portsmouth at the weekend, Millwall will look to get back on track when they host struggling Sheffield Wednesday to The Den. The Owls were comfortably beaten at home to rivals Sheffield United on Sunday.
The Lions should have enough to see them get back to winning ways on home soil.
Nick: 2-0
Simon: 3-0
Sheff Utd vs Portsmouth (Wed 19:45) - 1-1 @ 6/1
Sheffield United avoided humiliation in the Steel City derby but I still think there are a lot of issues for the Blades as they try to pull themselves away from relegation danger.
They host Portsmouth at Bramall Lane, and Pompey's tails will be up after their victory over Millwall. The hosts have won just once at home, while the visitors have the worst away record in the division - but they have managed three draws.
And that is the outcome I am predicting on Wednesday.
Nick: 2-1
Simon: 1-1
Wrexham vs Bristol City (Wed 19:45) - 1-2 @ 9/1
Wrexham picked up a valuable point at Ipswich on Saturday and they will look to build on that at home when they take on Bristol City. The Red Dragons have avoided defeat in six of their eight home appearances, but the visitors have been very effective on their travels, and I believe they can snatch the victory in North Wales.
Nick: 1-1
Simon: 2-1
West Brom vs Birmingham (Wed 20:00) - 1-2 @ 9/1
After their collapse at Coventry, West Brom might be feeling a little fragile heading into their next Midlands clash as Birmingham City make the trip to The Hawthorns. The Blues made it three consecutive home games in which they scored four goals but they are still yet to have a real impact when playing away from St. Andrew's.
The Baggies may have decent home form but it does feel like they are there for the taking and I can see Birmingham recording a win that might just change their fortunes on the road.
Nick: 1-2
Simon: 0-3
