Blackburn Rovers welcome Swansea City to Ewood Park on Tuesday evening (19:45 BST, Sky Sports+), with both teams struggling to achieve any sort of consistency during the initial weeks of the new season.

Below are my Blackburn vs Swansea predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds, ahead of this EFL Championship meeting.

Blackburn vs Swansea Betting Tips

  • Swansea to win & under 2.5 goals @ 4/1
  • Half-time result - Draw @ 21/20

*Odds correct as of the time of publication

Having already suffered four league defeats following Saturday’s 3-0 loss at the Valley, Rovers now find themselves hovering just above the relegation zone.

It may have been a slightly different story if the previous weekend’s meeting with Ipswich Town hadn’t been abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch, with Blackburn leading 1-0 heading into the closing stages.

That fixture will be replayed in its full entirety with the scoreline reset to 0-0, much to Valérien Ismaël’s ire.

Meanwhile, City occupy a mid-table position after amassing nine points from their opening seven Championship fixtures.

Although the Swans’ league form has left a little to be desired, they’ve successfully managed to navigate their way to the EFL Cup fourth round.

All three of their matches in this competition have come on home turf, with the latest resulting in a dramatic late victory over Europa League participants Nottingham Forest.

Team News

The hosts are once again without defender Hayden Carter, who is unlikely to return before the upcoming international break.

That could mean Australia international Lewis Miller - who arrived at Ewood Park in the summer after leaving Scottish outfit Hibernian - continues to deputise as a makeshift centre-back.

Moussa Baradji remains sidelined after recently undergoing surgery on his foot, having been unable to make a single appearance for Rovers since joining on a season-long loan deal from Yverdon Sport.

Football Odds

City boss Alan Sheehan pretty much has a full complement to choose from, but may look to freshen up his side after a short sequence of underwhelming results.

Zan Vipotnik is set to lead the line, with Swans fans desperate for the Slovenia international to extend his current goalscoring purple patch.

The imposing striker has netted four times in his last six league outings, having also scored twice during his side’s impressive EFL Cup run.

Today's Football Fixtures

Blackburn vs Swansea Odds

It’s difficult to know how this one will pan out, so it’s unsurprising to see little variation in the Match Result market.

With home advantage, Rovers are marginal 8/5 favourites. The visitors are priced at a perhaps generous 9/5, while the draw at 11/5 is considered the least likely outcome.

Blackburn vs Swansea Stats

  • Six of Swansea's seven Championship matches have gone under 2.5 goals
  • It’s been goalless at HT during all three of Swansea's away fixtures

Swansea to win & under 2.5 goals @ 4/1

Although they’ve already lost twice on the road this term, Swansea should have enough quality to secure maximum points on Tuesday evening.

Only one of the Swans’ opening seven league contests - September’s thrilling 2-2 draw with Hull City - has witnessed more than two goals, while the Ewood Park faithful have only witnessed their team score once so far this season.

Half-time result - Draw @ 21/20

Both of these teams tend to make slow starts. It’s been goalless at the break during all three of the Swans’ away fixtures, while the same can be said of last month’s clash with Sheffield United at the Swansea.com stadium.

Blackburn carried 0-0 scorelines into the interval when facing Birmingham City and Ipswich Town at Ewood Park, but couldn’t prevent Josh Sargent from sending the travelling Norwich fans into raptures in the final minute of first-half regulation time.

Ryoya Morishita’s second-half strike was the only goal of Rovers’ clash with Watford, ensuring the visitors left Hertfordshire with all three points.
