Blackburn Rovers will look to build on Friday's derby day victory at Preston North End when they host Queens Park Rangers in the EFL Championship on Wednesday (19:45 GMT, Sky Sports+). Rovers have won just one of their seven home fixtures, though.

The Rs head here after a 3-2 home victory over Hull City at the weekend. Below you will find my Blackburn vs QPR predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

George Pratt was deployed in defence at Preston to make his Blackburn debut and the 22-year-old will be hoping he did enough to make his first home appearance for the club against QPR.

Moussa Baradji remains out following foot surgery. Balasz Toth (knee), Hayden Carter, Augustus Kargbo (both calf) and Jake Garrett (leg) are also confined to the medical bay.

Scott Wharton (Achilles) won't be seen again until 2026, while Todd Cantwell has now missed the past seven matches with an issue of his own.

Birmingham City loanee Taylor Gardner-Hickman is available for selection again following a suspension.

Football Odds

QPR defender Jake Clarke-Salter made his first appearance of the campaign at the weekend following a lengthy lay-off. He was replaced after 61 minutes as it looks like he is being eased back into things. Steve Cook replaced him and he could be in contention to start this fixture.

Boss Julien Stephan is unlikely to make any other changes to the side that won against Hull.

Today's Football Fixtures

Blackburn vs QPR Odds

Blackburn have won four of their last five league games, which included their first home win of the campaign, which came against Southampton. Rovers are 23/20 (implied probability of 46.5%) to win this clash.

QPR have drawn two of their eight away games in the second tier and the stalemate is on offer at 21/10.

The visitors have won three of their away contests and they are 11/5 to collect the three points.

BTTS - Yes has struck in six of Blackburn's home games and this is valued at 4/5.

Blackburn vs QPR Stats

  • Blackburn have won four of their last five games
  • BTTS - Yes has landed in 86% (6/7) of Rovers' home games in the league
  • Over 2.5 Goals has struck in four of QPR's eight away fixtures

Double Chance & BTTS - Blackburn or draw and Yes @ 13/10

Rovers have been in good form recently and Friday's victory at Deepdale puts them in a good position heading into this home clash. Ewood has been a place of struggle for the hosts for much of the campaign but with a bit of momentum behind them, Rovers can start to pick up more points on home turf.

QPR have been effective on their travels, though, with three wins from seven - but they don't quite have the same level of momentum as their hosts. The Rs may have got back to winning ways on Saturday but they were winless in four before that, so there may be a degree of vulnerability about them here.

As much as I do fancy Blackburn's chances, their home form is troubling so I do think the insurance of a draw is needed when covering them here. The selection is bolstered by BTTS - Yes, which has been a successful bet in six of the seven league matches held here in 2025/26.

Total Goals - Over 2.5 @ 1/1

Over 2.5 goals has been a common trend for both of these clubs in the Championship this term. QPR have seen this threshold met in nine of their 16 appearances this campaign, including four of their eight away trips.

For Rovers, there have been at least three goals scored in eight of their 15 outings in the second tier, including five of their seven games held at Ewood. The hosts' previous two matches have gone over 2.5 goals and I see this trend continuing on Wednesday.
