Blackburn vs Ipswich Prediction: Rovers man good price for card

On Tuesday night, Blackburn Rovers will host Ipswich Town (19:45) for the second time in 2025/26. Rovers were one goal up in mid-September before the heavens opened and the Ewood Park pitch became a duck pond, with the referee bringing a halt to proceedings with ten minutes to go.
So here we are again. For the second time of asking, and let’s hope this one finishes, you can find my Blackburn vs Ipswich predictions.

Team News
Andri Gudjohnsen should lead the line once again for Blackburn after finding the net in the draw with Wrexham, and Yuki Ohashi is the most likely candidate to play up front with him in Valerien Ismael’s 3-4-1-2.
Sidnei Tavares may return from his illness, but Todd Cantwell is likely to miss out again with his persistent knee injury. Sondre Tronstad, Scott Wharton and Hayden Carter are all out injured as Blackburn look to find another three points.
Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna still needs to work out his best XI and a 2-1 defeat to Oxford United on Friday night will have done nothing to help solidify his choices. George Hirst should lead the line again, and they look more balanced with Marcelino Nunez playing as the 10 - with Chuba Akpom waiting in the wings.
Jack Clarke and Kasey McAteer are pushing for starts out wide but too many changes are clearly upsetting the apple cart, so perhaps McKenna will give those that started a chance to prove themselves once again. Centre-back Jacob Greaves continues to find himself on the bench behind Cedric Kipre and Dara O’Shea.
Blackburn vs Ipswich Predicted Lineups
- Blackburn - Pears; Miller, McLoughlin, Pratt; Alebiosu, Forshaw, Gardner-Hickman, Hedges; Morishita; Ohashi, Gudjohnsen

Blackburn are priced at 13/5 to win this game, with Ipswich the clear favourites at 1/1. A draw is 7/2, while the Tractor Boys have an implied win probability of 50% based on the odds.
Over 2.5 goals is 10/11, BTTS is 4/5 and Hirst is the favourite to open the scoring at 9/2. You can find more odds on the link above.

- Ipswich have seen BTTS is four of their last six
Price Boost - Ipswich to win and BTTS @ 7/2
Here I am, backing Ipswich again. They’ve let me down so many times before but this does feel like a bit of a get out of jail free card given the state of the game when it was abandoned in September. I know they were wasteful at Oxford and that defeat will hurt, but prior to that they had won their last three away games on the bounce.
The squad speaks for itself, and I have waxed lyrical about it this term, and this winter period is when they just have to motor on. Both teams have scored in three of the last four Blackburn games and four of the last six Ipswich encounters, so let’s back goals and another away win with this generous Price Boost.

George Pratt to get booked @ 3/1
Blackburn centre-back George Pratt has been thrust into the first team in recent weeks, and he’s done a reasonable job, starting the last three games as part of the back three. It’s been quite the turnaround for the young defender, who began the season on loan at National League North outfit Chorley.
He got one yellow card and one goal in just three starts for Chorley, and at the start of November he was still playing in the sixth tier. However, Blackburn’s injury crisis led to an early recall, and now he is starting games in the Championship. There’s not much data to back this selection up, but that’s why I think this is a great pick at 3/1.
He was playing in the sixth tier a month ago, now he’s going to be up against the best players he has faced in his fledgling career. He could find life tough so I will back a yellow here.
