Birmingham City picked up a much-needed win on Saturday as they thumped Portsmouth in the Championship. The Blues have another match at St. Andrew's on Tuesday (19:45 GMT, Sky Sports+) as they welcome Millwall.

The Lions were forced to settle for a point on their last away trip to Oxford United on Saturday. Below you will find my Birmingham vs Millwall predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

After delivering their best performance of the season against Portsmouth, Birmingham boss Chris Davies is unlikely to make many changes - if any - for Tuesday's fixture.

Tomoki Iwata has been performing well at right-back and he looks to have cemented this role in the side while Ethan Laird continues to recover from a hamstring problem. Bright Osayi-Samuel will have to settle for a spot on the bench as his start to the season has been bitterly disappointing.

Scott Wright and Lee Buchanan both remain sidelined with their knee issues. Patrick Roberts picked up a knock at the weekend, so if he is unable to start against Millwall it would seem Keshi Anderson would take his place.

Marvin Ducksch and Jay Stansfield are expected to continue to build a relationship in attack but Kyogo Furuhashi will be pushing for a recall to the lineup.

Football Odds

Millwall are likely to miss Femi Azeez here after the attacker was withdrawn after 35 minutes at the weekend with a knock. Camiel Neghil would be the most likely candidate to replace him in the XI on Tuesday.

Boss Alex Neil revealed that Ryan Leonard picked up an issue in injury time against Oxford United, so he is also considered a doubt for this one.

Birmingham vs Millwall Predicted Lineups

  • Birmingham: Beadle; Iwata, Neumann, Klarer, Cochrane; Paik, Doyle; Anderson, Stansfield, Gray; Ducksch
  • Millwall: Crocombe; Leonard, Crama, Cooper, Sturge; Mazou-Sacko, De Norre; Neghil, Cundle, Ballo; Ivanovic

Today's Football Fixtures

Birmingham vs Millwall Odds

Birmingham have won three of their six home games in the league and they are 19/20 to defeat the Lions.

Two games have ended in a draw here, while Millwall have experienced three stalemates on their travels in the second tier. You can get a price of 11/5 (implied probability of 31.3%) for them to share the spoils on Tuesday.

The visitors have also won three away fixtures and they are 3/1 to come away with the victory.

There have been goals at both ends in seven of Millwall's past eight road trips in the Championship - and BTTS - Yes is valued at 1/1.

Birmingham vs Millwall Stats

  • Birmingham have lost just one of their six home league games this season
  • BTTS has struck in 83% (5/6) of Millwall's away matches in the Championship

Double Chance & BTTS - Birmingham or Draw and Yes @ 6/4

The comfortable win at the weekend felt like it could be the beginning of a turning point for Birmingham and Davies. It may have taken longer than expected but the Blues finally delivered a performance the fans had been hoping for.

They may have conceded possession against Pompey but they were front-footed and quick to move the ball forward, which was often lacking in previous games. Apart from losing to Hull a couple of weeks ago, St. Andrew's has been a fortress for Birmingham, and I sense they can build on the weekend's win with a positive result against Millwall.

The Lions do boast a strong away record, though, as they are yet to be beaten on their travels. However, they were denied by a late equaliser at Oxford United last time out, and this could set them up to drop more points against a Birmingham side that look like they are starting to click.

I think covering a draw for insurance is sensible here, as well as both teams to score - which has landed in five of Millwall's last five road trips in the second tier.

Marvin Ducksch anytime goalscorer @ 15/8

Ducksch was one of the most exciting arrivals at Birmingham in the summer given his goals and assists record in Germany with Werder Bremen. The former Germany international arrived with an injury and he has since experienced other setbacks in the opening months of the campaign.

He was able to make his second league start of the season on Saturday and his inclusion made a huge difference. The 31-year-old is very intelligent and he was able to make the Blues' attacking play run a lot smoother than we have previously seen.

Ducksch was able to get a couple efforts at goal at the weekend but was unable to open his account for the club. I think Tuesday could be the game in which we see him get on the scoresheet, which might be what he needs to be able to replicate his excellent figures in the Bundesliga.
