The Championship is back for a festive feast of football this weekend and to celebrate, we have put together an interesting looking accumulator for you to consider. Below are our picks for the upcoming weekend of fixtures.

Weekend EFL Championship Tips:

  • Draw or Ipswich Town win vs Leeds United @ 19/20
  • Sheffield Wednesday to beat Cardiff City @ 6/5
  • Norwich City to beat Huddersfield Town @ 8/13
  • Stoke to beat Millwall @ 23/20

Fourfold pays 14/1

Draw or Ipswich Town win vs Leeds United @ 19/20

I’m a huge believer in Kieran McKenna and what Ipswich Town are doing this year. The Tractor Boys have enjoyed the second best start to a Championship season in history, and sit second heading into two crunch clashes. First up is a trip to Elland Road, where Leeds United haven’t lost all season.

However, they were rattled by Coventry City in their recent 1-1 draw and the Sky Blues showed that Leeds are far from perfect on home soil. Ipswich are a step above Coventry this term and have what it takes to get a result against any team in the division. I believe they can go out and win this game, but we will play it safe for this acca, and back the double chance. If Ipswich avoid defeat, this leg will come in.

Sheffield Wednesday to beat Cardiff City @ 6/5

Danny Rohl has given Sheffield Wednesday the kick up the rear-end they needed. The Owls looked dead and buried under Xisco Munoz but have now won three of their last four matches. Before that they drew with Leicester, and there is no doubt that they are on the up, and survival is a real possibility.

Meanwhile Cardiff are in dismal form, and look like they will continue their slide down the table. After an unexpected positive start to the campaign, they have now lost four of their last five matches, scoring just one goal in that time period. They are now down to 12th, and could well be dragged into a relegation tussle if their goalscoring woes continue.

Norwich City to beat Huddersfield Town @ 8/13

Darren Moore is getting plenty of draws as Huddersfield boss, but that isn’t going to be enough to keep them up. The fans aren’t too keen on the performances Town have put in, and they needed a late penalty to rescue a point against Millwall last time out.

Meanwhile, Norwich achieved a point against the odds at Ipswich and have hit a purple patch recently on home soil. They have lost just once in their last seven matches, moved into the top ten and beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-1 in their last Carrow Road appearance. I’m happy to add them to the acca this weekend.

Stoke to beat Millwall @ 23/20

Two struggling sides who are underperforming this season. Stoke City have just made a major move by appointing former Plymouth gaffer Steven Schumacher and it’s a decision I can really get behind. Argyle have been one of the big success stories under Schumacher’s reign and with a bigger budget, Stoke should do well.

They will also receive a healthy new manager bounce just before Christmas, and up against a Millwall side who may be regretting their decision to hire Joe Edwards - they should be able to seal all three points.
