Champions versus champions. A repeat of August’s Super Cup final between PSG and Tottenham takes place on Wednesday and although we are only three months removed from the former’s win on penalties, a lot has changed in that time. 

Not so much from a PSG perspective – that is unless you count the departure of Gianluigi Donnarumma but from a Spurs point of view, all is not well under manager Thomas Frank. An abject display in Sunday’s North London derby now heaping pressure on the shoulders of the Dane. Team News 

PSG currently the gold standard in Europe and although they also rule the roost back in Ligue 1, the value of domination has decreased ever so slightly. Just a two-point gap over Marseille at the top, things not as seamless as they were 12 months before. 

However, Luis Enrique's men still made light work of Le Havre at the weekend with a 3-0 home win now in the history books. A game that saw the pair of Bradley Barcola and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia rested with tonight's game in mind. Their fresh legs will be tasked with causing Spurs misery in wide positions.  

Thomas Frank opted for a back five in Sunday's trip to Arsenal, now he has to decide whether ultra-defensive football is going to be the best way forward in the French capital. Should a switch to a flat back four be the preferred choice, it will mean Austrian defender Kevin Danso reverts back to the bench. 

Which means an extra body in midfield will be required and although manager Frank does not have a great deal of options to call upon in that position, Lucas Bergvall's inclusion may give Spurs more creativity against the Champions League holders.

PSG are priced as favourites at 1/3 to win this game, with Tottenham the underdogs at 7/1. That gives the home team an implied win probability of 75% while a draw can be backed at 4/1. 

BTTS has been priced at 8/11 and over 2.5 goals is 1/2, while Ousmane Dembele is the favourite to score first at 7/2.

PSG vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction 1 - PSG Win and BTTS @ 8/5

Absolutely no doubt that PSG go into tonight's game as favourites and although Tottenham are yet to suffer defeat in this season's edition of the Champions League, a trip to the Parc des Princes is a far greater test than making light work of Danish outfit Copenhagen in Matchday 3.  

Which means if the home win is to be backed, how is any form of value squeezed out of it? As we saw on Sunday, an abject Spurs defence can still find the net once the jeopardy is removed from the encounter. For that reason, I expect the same outcome at the Emirates to also appear in Paris. 

PSG vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction 2 - Over 3.5 Goals @ 5/4 

Which also leans into my second tip and when you consider that PSG have averaged 3.5 goals per game in the Champions League this season, they are more than capable of ticking off this bet under their own steam. Then again, a helping hand would do us a huge favour at the same time. 

Tottenham no slouches in the attacking department but their seven goal haul in the competition has been slightly boosted by their 4-0 thrashing of Copenhagen last time around. If the first bet does come good, then PSG only need to score three goals on the night – something they are more than capable of.
