Napoli vs Eintracht Frankfurt Prediction: Conte’s charges to clinch important victory

Heading into gameweek four of the 2025/26 Uefa Champions League league phase, Eintracht Frankfurt and Napoli sit 22nd and 23rd, respectively, having both won one and lost two of the first three matches. On Tuesday (17:45 BST, TNT Sports 2), the two teams face off at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, looking to move up the 36-team table.

Lorenzo Lucca is suspended after being sent off in Napoli's last European outing, their 6-2 hammering at the hands of PSV Eindhoven last month.

Napoli are big favourites to win on Tuesday, with odds of 8/15 implying a 65.2% probability of success, with Eintracht (4/1) a 20% chance, and the draw at 3/1.

Anytime Goalscorer - Jonathan Burkardt (SGE) @ 2/1

After scoring seven goals in his last seven games, I backed Eintracht striker Jonathan Burkardt to score anytime at 15/8 in the German side's last Champions League game against Liverpool. However, he only came on in the 59th minute and was unable to transform his side's fortunes as they were thrashed 5-1 by the reigning Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old started against St Pauli three days later, though, bagging a brace in a 2-0 victory to bring his season tally up to nine goals.

After being utilised as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Heidenheim, I'd be surprised if the Germany international isn't handed a start in Naples on Tuesday, and that makes his 2/1 price to notch anytime an appealing one.

In his last seven starts, Burkardt has struck eight times, netting twice in two of his last three.

He began Eintracht's continental campaign this season by scoring a couple of goals in their 5-1 victory over Galatasaray on September 18, and in their first away game, at Atletico Madrid 12 days later, he struck again.

Both teams have scored in Napoli's last four home wins, while Eintracht have found the net in both of their away defeats, a 3-1 defeat at Bayer Leverkusen and a 5-1 hammering at Atletico Madrid.

The Italian champions suffered an embarrassing defeat in Eindhoven last time out in the Champions League, but they've recovered admirably, beating Inter 3-1 at home and Lecce 1-0 away before being held to a goalless draw in Naples on Saturday by Como.

Eintracht, meanwhile, have failed to win either of their last two matches, suffering a penalty shootout defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal after a 1-1 draw before drawing 1-1 at Heidenheim on the weekend.

The German side have scored in 13 of their 14 games this season, with only Bayern Munich stopping them in a 3-0 win on October 4, yet they have lost five times, not including the cup shootout loss to Dortmund.

I fancy the visitors to trouble a backline that has only kept one clean sheet in their last five matches, but the hosts should prove too strong in the end, with a 2-1 or 3-1 win most likely, in my opinion.
