Liverpool vs PSV Prediction: Saibari to pile more pressure on Slot’s side

Liverpool's Premier League season took another turn for the worse on Saturday as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Nottingham Forest, a result that leaves the Reds 12th in the table. Arne Slot can at least lean on a solid start to their league phase campaign in the Uefa Champions League, with the six-time winners picking up nine points from a possible 12 so far.

On Wednesday (20:00 GMT, TNT Sports 2), the English giants take on Dutch counterparts PSV Eindhoven, who have also lost just once in Europe this term, but are on four fewer points, having drawn twice. Team News

Conor Bradley, Florian Wirtz (both muscle), Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) and Giovanni Leoni (knee) are set to miss out again for Liverpool, who could make changes to their starting XI following Saturday's defeat to Forest.

Joe Gomez, Andy Robertson and Hugo Ekitike are among those eyeing up promotions from the bench.

As for PSV, Ruben van Bommel and Alassane Plea are ruled out with knee injuries, while teenage midfielder Joel van den Berg (unspecified) is doubtful.

This was a successful selection in last month's Bayer Leverkusen-PSV preview, with Ismael Saibari (7/2) netting his side’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw at the BayArena.

I tried my luck again earlier in November, backing the Moroccan to strike anytime at 23/10 in my Olympiakos-PSV preview, but without success.

Undeterred, I'm going for it again here, at a more enticing price of 16/5.

Liverpool's vulnerabilities are there for all to see, with three goals conceded in four of their last six games, including the last two.

Saibari has scored 10 goals for PSV this season, including two in four Champions League appearances, and he's struck three times for Morocco since the start of September, netting one in his most recent international game, a 4-0 victory over Uganda last Tuesday.

The 24-year-old will fancy his chances of scoring a famous goal at Anfield this week.

Liverpool have only conceded a combined seven corners across their last three European outings against Galatasaray (three), Eintracht Frankfurt (two) and Real Madrid (two), but in their opening Champions League game of the season, the Reds conceded six in a 3-2 victory over Atletico Madrid at Anfield.

The Reds have also conceded at least four in their last six Premier League matches, including six at home to Nottingham Forest last Saturday.

PSV are averaging 5.25 corners taken per game in the Champions League this season, winning at least four in all four of their league phase contests. In their first away match, a 1-1 draw in Leverkusen, the Eindhoven club took four, and in a stalemate by the same scoreline against Olympiakos in Greece last time out, they took six.
