Wednesday 26th November 2025, 5:30am

Both FC Copenhagen and FC Kairat have picked up only one point from their first four league phase games in the 2025/26 Uefa Champions League, leaving the Danes and Kazakhstanis with a lot of work to do to finish in the top 24, which would guarantee a play-off spot, at the minimum.

The two sides face off against each other at Parken Stadium on Wednesday (17:45 GMT, TNT Sports 5), and ahead of the game, you can check out my Copenhagen vs Kairat predictions, supported by all the latest team news and match odds, below.

Team News

Magnus Mattson, Rodrigo Huescas (both knee), Oliver Hojer, Birger Meling (both unspecified) and Thomas Delaney (knock) all look set to sit this one out for Copenhagen.

Football Odds

Kairat, meanwhile, will be without Brazilian pair Elder Santana and Joao Paulo, who are both recovering from cruciate ligament injuries.

The Kazakhstan Premier League champions haven't played a game since losing 2-1 to Inter Milan at San Siro on November 5, but some of their players, including Belarus international Valeriy Gromyko, who scored for his country in a 2-2 draw with Denmark at Parken Stadium on November 15, have been in international action this month.

Copenhagen vs Kairat Predicted Lineups

  • Copenhagen: Kotarski; Suzuki, Pereira, Hatzidiakos, Lopez; Larsson, Lerager, Clem, Achouri; Elyounoussi, Moukoko
  • Kairat: Anarbekov; Mata, Sorokin, Shirobokov, Mrynskiy; Arad, Kasabulat; Satpaev, Jorginho, Gromyko; Edmilson

Copenhagen vs Kairat Odds

Hosts Copenhagen (3/10) are heavy favourites to win on Wednesday, handed an implied probability of 76.9%, with Kairat (15/2) only given an 11.8% chance, and the draw (4/1) a 20% chance.

Copenhagen vs Kairat Stats

  • Both teams have scored in KBH's two UCL league phase home matches
  • BTTS-Yes has landed in KAI's two UCL league phase away games
  • Lerager (KBH) has been booked in his last three apps
  • Gromyko (KAI) has received four yellows in 25/26 UCL (three in qualifiers, one in league phase)

Both Teams To Score - Yes @ 5/6

Both teams have struggled for goals lately, with Copenhagen blanking in back-to-back defeats to Tottenham (4-0) and Vejle (2-0) before beating Brondby 1-0 on Sunday.

Kairat, like Copenhagen, have failed to score in half (two) of their four league phase matches in the Champions League, and have also notched just once in their last three games, drawing 0-0 at home to Pafos before drawing 1-1 with FC Astana and losing 2-1 at Inter.

Today's Football Fixtures

However, I'm hopeful both sides can get on the scoresheet at Parken Stadium.

Both teams have scored in five of Copenhagen's last seven home games, including both of their league phase matches in the Champions League, while Kairat have struck in their last four away contests, including in European defeats at Sporting CP (4-1) and Inter (2-1).

Kairat also forced Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois into four saves in their 5-0 home defeat to the Spanish giants on September 30, recording 11 attempts in total.

With both sides targeting a positive result on Wednesday, we should see goalmouth action at both ends, and I'm backing BTTS-Yes at 5/6.

Bet Builder - Lukas Lerager (KBH) & Valeri Gromyko (KAI) Shown Any Card @ 7/1

Copenhagen midfielder Lukas Lerager has been booked seven times this season, with three of his yellows coming in 10 Champions League games (two in four league phase matches).

The 32-year-old has been cautioned in his last three appearances, including his side's last European outing, a 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in north London on November 4.

Lerager is averaging 1.2 fouls per game in the league phase, and on Wednesday, he could spend much of the match in close proximity to Kairat's Jorginho, who is averaging 1.8 fouls won per game in the competition (2.3 per game in the 2025 Kazakhstan Premier League.

The Dane is a prime candidate to go into the book at Parken Stadium, as is Kairat's Gromyko, who has picked up four yellows in 12 Champions League appearances this season (one in four league phase matches).

The 28-year-old is averaging 1.2 fouls per game in the league phase, while in this year's Kazakhstan Premier League, a competition in which he received eight yellows and one red, he averaged 1.8 fouls per game.

Gromyko can play on the left or right, but he's expected to start at right wing on Wednesday, a position which could see him up against Copenhagen left-back Marcos Lopez, who is averaging 1.8 fouls won per game in the UCL league phase this term.

Qarabag pair Matheus Silva and Toral Bayramov, deployed as a right-back and right winger, respectively, were both booked for fouls on Lopez in a 2-0 victory for the Azerbaijani side on October 1, while Tottenham's Brennan Johnson was sent off against Copenhagen for a studs-up challenge on the Peruvian.
