Two contrasting teams of European pedigree meet north of the Arctic Circle on Wednesday night as three-time winners Inter Milan travel to face knockout stage debutants Bodo/Glimt (20:00 GMT, TNT Sports 1).

Team News

Kjetil Knutsen has been pretty standard with his team selection in this competition, and having named the same XI against both Manchester City and Atletico Madrid, we can expect something similar here. 

Odin Bjortuft, Patrick Berg and Fredrik Sjovold, who have all played every minute in the Champions League this season should start again and former AC Milan winger Jens Petter Hauge should provide the flair out wide. 

Cristian Chivu has a few big decisions to make for this one, especially in midfield where Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu are back fit having played against Juventus, but they are now suspended for the league game against Lecce.

I can see both starting here, while of course Lautaro Martinez will lead the line looking to add to his 25 goals in this competition.

Notable wins against Manchester City and Atletico Madrid have to be taken into consideration for this game, with Bodo/Glimt qualifying in the most unlikely of circumstances from the group phase. 

However, Inter Milan come to town as the best team in Serie A right now, and I’m going to back them to put a marker down in this playoff match, with a win to nil. Inter have now kept clean sheets in their last six away games on the bounce, with the last team to score against them on home soil Genoa on December 14. 

This solid set-up, and the fact that this is a two-legged tie, should mean the away side can come away with a victory, despite Bodo/Glimt’s obvious threats.
