Arsenal against Real Madrid will steal most of the headlines on Tuesday, but there's another big Uefa Champions League quarter-final taking place that night at the Allianz Arena (20:00, TNT Sports 1) in Germany, where Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich host Simone Inzaghi's Inter Milan in the first leg of their final-eight tie.

Below are my Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan Bet Builder tips as I combine four legs, which pay out at a combined 20/1,

Total Goals - Under 2.5

If it's goals you're after, Inzaghi is not your friend, I'm afraid.

The Italian tactician has his Inter side incredibly well drilled, and while we can marvel at his ability to get players organised, the reality is that it can make European games a tough watch, particularly if you are someone who requires goals and general chaos to get entertained.

In eight league phase games this season, Inter conceded just once, conceding to Bayer Leverkusen's Nordi Mukiele in the 90th minute of their 1-0 defeat on December 10.

Unsurprisingly, seven clean sheets was a competition high, and while the league phase is only in its infancy, it's difficult to imagine any team in the future matching that record.

Inter only scored 11 times, though, so they didn't blow away many of their opponents, despite winning 75% of their matches (W6, D1, L1). I Nerazzurri beat Red Star Belgrade 4-0 at San Siro last October and beat Monaco 3-0 at home in January, but they failed to score more than once in any of their other six games.

Under 2.5 total goals was a winning selection in six of their eight league phase contests and in all four of their away trips.

There were also just two goals scored in the Serie A side's 2-0 win over Feyenoord at De Kuip in the first leg of their last 16 tie last month, meaning eight of their nine European away ties since the start of last season have gone under 2.5 goals.

Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan Odds

Bayern, meanwhile, have seen three of their six European home games this term finish with two or fewer goals.

The Bavarians have been on the winning end of some huge scorelines in Europe, but against much inferior opposition, and at home to Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain, they triumphed 1-0 on each occasion, while a trip to Birmingham saw them lose 1-0 to Aston Villa.

I see a tight first leg in Germany, with Inter happy to win the tie back in Italy, so under 2.5 goals looks good here.

Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan Stats

  • Under 2.5 goals has landed in eight of Inter's 10 CL games this season (inc. all five away)
  • 50% of Bayern's six home European matches in 24/25 have seen two or fewer goals
  • Inter have lost just once in Europe this season (W8, D1, L1)

Double Chance - Draw or Inter Milan

Inter's only defeat in Europe this season was in Germany as they lost 1-0 to reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen, although it took until the final minute for the hosts to find a way past I Nerazzurri's mean defence.

Inzaghi's side have already beaten Arsenal at home and drawn away to Manchester City, so they know what it takes to avoid defeat against a fellow big hitter.

Bayern beat PSG in November but that was before the French giants really started to click into gear, and their talisman, Ousmane Dembele, was sent off in the 57th minute of that game. The Munich side lost to Villa and were humbled 4-1 away to Barcelona, and a 3-0 defeat to Feyenoord in Rotterdam made it three league phase defeats.

Kompany's side were also held at home by Celtic in the second leg of their knockout phase play-off tie, albeit they won the first leg 2-1 in Scotland.

I'm not totally convinced on this Bayern team under their Belgian boss, and with Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano sidelined through injury, and concerns over Harry Kane's fitness, it's fair to say they are not at full strength heading into a tricky-looking tie with Inter, so the double chance on the visitors appeals here.

Bayern Munich vs Inter Milan Stats

  • Federico Dimarco (INT) is averaging 2.2 shots per 90 mins in 24/25 CL
  • Joshua Kimmich (BAY) has shot 2+ times in three of his last four CL apps
  • Kimmich's last four shots in Europe have been outside the 18-yard box

Player Stats - Federico Dimarco (INT) 2+ Shots

With a couple of months left in the 2024/25 season, Inter wing-back Federico Dimarco is looking to at least equal his most prolific campaign of 2022/23 and 2023/24 when he scored six times.

The 27-year-old has struck four goals this term for I Nerazzurri, with the most recent coming on March 1 in a 1-1 draw away to Napoli.

An injury kept him out for Inter's next four games but he came back with a bang, set up both goals in their 2-1 victory over Udinese on March 30, and after sitting out the Milan derby three days later, he returned to the starting XI for Saturday's 2-2 at Parma.

I expect Dimarco to keep his place in the side for the trip to Munich, and that could spell danger for Bayern.

The Italy international is averaging 2.2 shots per 90 minutes in this season's Champions League, trying his luck five times across his last two European appearances (two v Sparta Prague, three v AS Monaco).

Player Stats - Joshua Kimmich (BAY) 2+ Shots

Another player who I think could register at least two shot attempts is Bayern midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who is averaging 1.2 shots per 90 in the 2024/25 Champions League campaign.

The German's average is, of course, nearly half of that required for the above selection to land, but two Kimmich shots has landed in half (six) of his 12 European appearances this season, including three of his last four and both of his last two on home soil.

I'm expecting Inter to protect their goal well on Tuesday, and that could force Bayern into more long-range attempts than usual in a bid to break down their visitors.

Kimmich's last four shots in the Champions League have been from outside the penalty box, so he's someone Bayern could look to as they plot their way past the Italians.
