Atalanta vs Athletic Bilbao Prediction: 13/10 for Scamacca to strike

Atalanta's penultimate fixture of the Champions League league phase sees them lock horns with Athletic Bilbao at the Gewiss Stadium (20:00 GMT, live on TNT Sports 8).

The hosts are aiming to snap a seven-game winless run against Spanish opposition, and Bilbao have only won one of their six matches in Europe this term. Read on for my Atalanta vs Athletic Bilbao predictions, as well as the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Berat Djimsiti and Raoul Bellanova are both missing for the hosts, although Ademola Lookman could be involved in some capacity after returning from his Africa Cup of Nations commitments.

Ederson and Marten de Roon are expected to start in the engine room, with Mario Pasalic and Charles De Ketelaere supporting former West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca in attack.

As for Bilbao, Aymeric Laporte is a doubt due to a thigh injury, potentially joining the likes of Mikel Vesga, Benat Prados, Maroan Sannadi and Nico Serrano on the treatment table.

Nico Williams is expected to start for the visitors, after the tricky winger managed to end his goal drought against Mallorca at the weekend.

I'm siding with the hosts to enjoy a comfortable victory on Wednesday night.

Atalanta have won nine of their last 12 outings since Raffale Palladino took over after Ivan Juric's sacking in November and seven of those victories have come with clean sheets.

Bilbao have failed to score in 10 of their last 19 matches, and they've been shut out in four of their six Champions League matches. So, lets' back the Italian side to do the business here to nil.

Gianluca Scamacca to score anytime @ 13/10

The Italian international has recorded a goal and an assist across his last two appearances in the Champions League, and I think he's a very reasonable price to score anytime at 13/10.

The former West Ham man has scored six times in 19 appearances across all competitions this term, and should get plenty of opportunities to strike against a Bilbao side that have conceded 11 goals across their last three outings.
