Celtic vs Aberdeen Prediction: Goals galore in Glasgow

There's just one game in the Scottish Premiership on Tuesday night, as Celtic host Aberdeen at Parkhead. Its to be aired live on Sky Sports Main Event, with kick-off at 20:00.
Read on for Frank Monkhouse's Celtic vs Aberdeen predictions, complete with the latest odds and team news.
It rarely pays to oppose Celtic in Glasgow, and that’s a lesson that Betfred traders learned early in the season. The hosts are the best team in the league by a comfortable margin and have been scoring for fun this year. Rodgers’ side were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League by Bayern Munich, meaning they can zoom in on completing a domestic treble. The home win is a hot favourite with 1/6 available.
Aberdeen have collected 28 fewer points than their hosts so far this season and are 15 behind Rangers in second. Splitting the Old Firm looks unlikely, but Aberdeen can hold on for third place, ending as best of the rest. Thelin’s men have Dundee United and Hibs snapping away at their heels, meaning there’s little margin for error. The away win is a heavyweight 14/1, with the draw available at 13/2.
Team News
Celtic will have to make do without just James Forrest and Paulo Bernardo, while Aberdeen are missing Jamie McGrath, Jack Milne, Vincente Besuijen, Gavin Molloy, Dante Polvara and Ester Solker.
Over 3.5 goals @ 4/5
Celtic may have total control over the Scottish Premiership, but Rodgers sets his team up for match 28 following a shock defeat in the capital. The Bhoys suffered only their second loss of the season - both on the road - when slipping to a 2-1 at Easter Road. Hibs raced into a 2-0 lead that day before Daizen Maeda scored a consolation. The manager felt his team deserved more from the game and will be determined to respond with a strong win.
Celtic and Aberdeen have been involved in some high-scoring matches recently, including that 2-2 draw here in October. The pair have scored a combined 11 goals in three meetings this season. That’s nothing unusual, as the Bhoys and Dons shared 15 goals last term. With the hosts eager to make a statement, I advise a bet on over 3.5 goals at 4/5. That’s worth considering for your midweek accumulators.

Reo Hatate to score anytime @ 15/8
My second pick at Celtic Park on Tuesday evening before a bumper audience is Reo Hatate to find the net. That bet comes with decent odds attached, and it’s another that could do a good job in your multiples. The 27-year-old Japanese midfielder has a great record against Tuesday’s opponents, and with an open game expected, he’s fancied to boost his numbers.
Hatate scored the winner at Pittodrie before Christmas and broke the deadlock in the 2-2 draw here. Reo hasn’t found the net since adding a second in a 2-0 home win over Dundee United in January, but the visit of a confident Aberdeen looks a great opportunity to end that drought with an overdue goal.
