With Celtic’s fourth-place finish already confirmed and Feyenoord cementing third in the pool, ensuring they drop into the Europa League in the new year, there’s little to play for in Glasgow. Celtic have endured some painful results in this season’s Champions League group campaign, but few would’ve angered fans as much as a weekend loss at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership. The champions and league-toppers took the lead on Sunday when visiting Kilmarnock but conceded two late goals to lose the game, allowing Rangers to close the gap at the summit. Feyenoord will finish third in Champions League Group E, regardless of the result in Glasgow on Wednesday evening. The Dutch side won the Eredivisie last season and was expected to progress into the later rounds of this tournament. Group E looked like a pool they were capable of progressing from, but they’ll end in third with the consolation prize of dropping into the Europa League. Feyenoord arrives in Glasgow with their campaign stats showing two wins against three defeats, with eight goals scored and eight conceded.

Domestically, The Club of the People has been performing well of late but is already ten points behind early pace-setter PSV Eindhoven, who has won each of their opening 15 games. Feyenoord’s league stats show 11 wins, two draws, and a pair of defeats, scoring 44 goals and conceding 14. The visitors arrive on the back of a 3-1 home win over FC Volendam, meaning they touchdown in Scotland in a confident mood.

Celtic is the home team, but they’ve shown us little to suggest they’re capable of signing off with three points and a win against a strong opponent. It’ll take a huge effort for the Bhoys to grab that elusive Champions League victory, but supporters can back the locals at 15/8, a price that makes them second favourites.

Feyenoord travel to Glasgow following a great result in Eredivisie, and with their most recent game played on Thursday, Arne Slot’s men enjoyed three days more rest than their hosts, who played on Sunday. Bet 2: Feyenoord win @ 23/20

Celtic have been nothing short of dreadful in this Champions League group campaign, but I did expect them to be slight favourites heading into this contest. The home advantage and the fact there’s nothing to play for could’ve led to traders giving the Bhoys another chance, but that’s not the case. Feyenoord is the pre-game favourites, but there’s value in their price.

Having already beaten Celtic 2-0 at De Kuip and wishing to exit the Champions League with a win, we’re backing the Dutch to do the double over their hosts.
