Team News

Will Osula, Fabian Schar (both ankle), Emil Krafth (knee), Dan Burn (rib/lung), Tino Livramento (hamstring), Anthony Elanga and Jamaal Lascelles (both unspecified) are all out injured for Newcastle.

Harvey Barnes has scored four goals across his last two matches for the Magpies and he is likely to start on Tuesday, having also scored against Man City already this season.

Lewis Hall, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton and Anthony Gordon are all expected to be restored to the XI.

Football Odds

City remain without the services of Mato Kovacic (ankle), John Stone (thigh), Oscar Bobb (hamstring), Savinho (knock), Josko Gvardiol (shin) and Ruben Dias (muscle) due to various injury issues.

Max Alleyne, who returned from a loan spell at Watford earlier this month, and Abdukodir Khusanov have been the centre-back pairing for the past two games and this should continue on Tuesday night.

Phil Foden could be thrown back into the side after being rested in the weekend's 10-1 win over Exeter City.

Both teams are filled with quality in attack and I do predict that goals will flow on Tyneside. Four of the Magpies' previous six competitive outings have featured over 3.5 goals, three of which have come on home turf.

This includes their two most recent fixtures against Leeds United in the Premier League and AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup.

For City, they scored 10 goals in their home routing of Exeter last time out, and they will certainly have their part to play in helping this game reach the four-goal threhold.

Newcastle's recent form has shown that most of the goal-scoring action has come in the second half. All four of the goals in regulation time against Bournemouth at the weekend came in the second 45. This was also the case in their other recent fixtures against Leeds and Crystal Palace.
