Team News

Cambridge snatched a late draw at high-flying Wrexham last weekend and Garry Monk could field an unchanged side.

James Gibbons and Paul Digby are likely to remain sidelined by injuries. Jubril Okedina returned from a suspension for that trip to Wales and got his place straight back.

Terriers boss Michael Duff has more injury concerns, with goalkeeper Lee Nicholls, defenders Tom Lees and Mickel Miller, midfielders Jonathan Hogg and Antony Evans and forward Rhys Healey all likely to be missing.

Cambridge have been out of sorts in recent times and are 3/1 to get what would be just a second-ever win over Huddersfield in 20 attempts. The draw is priced at 23/10 and the visiting Terriers are 5/6 for the win.

Over 2.5 goals rates a 10/11 chance while both teams to score can be backed at 4/5.

Huddersfield Town to win @ 9/10

Manager Duff took over the role at Town in the summer and he came under fairly intense scrutiny by late autumn.

His team lost seven of eight games in league and cup, including four on the spin in League One during a nightmare 11-day spell in late September/early October.

However, they have bounced back stylishly since a 1-0 defeat against title contenders Birmingham City on October 1st, with seven wins and three draws on league duty since then.

No side has gathered more League One points across the last six games than the Terriers, evidence of how much they have stepped things up.

The U’s have won just one of their last six in the league and, while they did grab a point at Wrexham last time out, their head-to-head record in this fixture is poor and another setback may be incoming.

Ben Wiles anytime scorer @ 11/4

Terriers midfielder Ben Wiles is well on track for his best ever scoring season. He got eight for Rotherham in 2021/22 and has six already this term in just 19 games.

His first campaign at the John Smith's Stadium didn't go to plan, as he was still coming back from a serious ankle problem suffered on Boxing Day 2022.

However, his energy and drive is back now and Duff suggested earlier this campaign that Wiles, 25, was 'coming to the prime of his career with his age'.

That looks to be holding true. He was on target at Mansfield Town on his previous away start and can make it two goals in three starts by notching here.
