The weekend’s action in La Liga kicks off on Friday night with Cadiz welcoming Real Betis to the Nuevo Mirandilla Stadium as they look to end their dismal run of 21 matches without a win in all competitions.

There have been some recent signs of improvement from the strugglers but they will have to be at their best to get a positive result against a Real Betis side who are eighth in the Spanish top flight.

Cadiz vs Real Betis Prediction

  • Draw @ 11/5
  • #PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals, Nabil Fekir 1+ shot on target, over 49.5 booking points @ 7/2

Team news

Luis Hernandez, Javi Hernandez and Roger Marti are all sidelined for Cadiz while Fede San Emeterio is a major doubt. However, the hosts will be boosted by the return of Ruben Alcaraz and Fali after suspension.

Real Betis will definitely be without injured quintet Ezequiel Avila, Ayoze Perez, Guido Rodriguez, Youssouf Sabaly and Marc Bartra. Marc Roca, Claudio Bravo and Abner are also doubtful to feature.

Draw @ 11/5

Cadiz have not won since the first day of September but there has been signs of improvement since the appointment of former Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino in January.

The Yellow Submarine have drawn Pellegrino's first two matches at the helm and they could continue their upturn in form against Betis on Friday.

Cadiz held the men from Seville to a 1-1 draw in Andalucia in September and could earn another point against Manuel Pellegrini’s men on Friday night.

Betis have struggled on their travels of late, losing to strugglers Celta Vigo and mid-table Alaves in their previous two away games prior to a narrow 1-0 win of Mallorca, and they could have to settle for a point against an improving Cadiz side.

#PickYourPunt - Under 2.5 goals, Nabil Fekir 1+ shot on target, over 49.5 booking points @ 7/2

Cadiz’s last two matches have finished goalless while three of Betis’s last four matches have produced fewer than three goals, so it is safe to assume that goals will be at a premium at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

The last meeting between the pair saw just two goals scored, the third meeting in a row in which a bet on under 2.5 goals has landed. That outcome forms the first leg of a #PickYourPunt selection for Friday's encounter.

Nabil Fekir has largely been utilised as a midfielder during his career but Betis boss Pellegrini has deployed the Frenchman further forward in recent weeks and the makeshift striker should test Cadiz’s resolve.

Fekir has managed six shots in his two starts as a centre-forward and could hit the target at least once on Friday.

Cadiz have received four yellow cards in five of their last six matches and, given Betis received seven bookings in their 1-1 draw with Getafe last weekend, it seems likely that tempers will flare at the Nuevo Mirandilla.

A bet on over 49.5 booking points, which would click if five yellows are shown, is the third and final selection of our 7/2 #PickYourPunt selection.
