Burton Albion host Port Vale at the Pirelli Stadium in League One on Saturday afternoon (15:00) in a big clash at the bottom of the table. The Brewers find themselves two places and four points above the relegation zone, while the Valiants are six points from safety in 23rd.

Both sides are winless in their last five which raises the stakes for this huge clash in Staffordshire. Below are our Burton Albion vs Port Vale predictions, including team news and match odds.

Burton Albion vs Port Vale Betting Tips

  • Draw @ 21/10
  • Both teams to score @ 5/6

Match Odds

Burton are 5/4 to win and give themselves some added breathing room from the teams beneath them. Port Vale are 2/1 to move three points closer to safety and the draw is on offer at 21/10.

Both teams to score is valued at 5/6 and over 2.5 goals is 6/5.

Team News

The Brewers have no fresh injury concerns heading into the weekend which could give them a boost in this six-pointer. They were 3-2 winners in the reverse fixture at Vale Park back in September.

Port Vale's top scorer, Ben Garrity, scored that day and both players could have a huge say in the outcome of Saturday's meeting. He is 4/1 to score anytime this weekend.

The Valiants are set to be without Dan Gore and Uche Ikpeazu due to injury, however, which isn't ideal for manager Darren Moore as he aims to steer the club away from relegation danger.

Draw @ 21/10

Given the positions of the two teams heading into this one, as well as their torrid form, it would be fair to say we are heading towards a stalemate at the Pirelli. They are both extremely low on confidence and it has been clear for some time that neither have the quality required to push much higher up the table than where they currently are.

Due to the potential repercussions of this result, though, both sets of players will be fired up to go to battle for 90 minutes. For Burton, victory could ease their relegation fears and for Port Vale, it would raise their survival chances.

However, we do believe that there is very little to separate them and that they should cancel each other out in this one.

Both teams to score @ 5/6

We do think that this game will deliver some goals, however, with a lot on the line here. We saw five scored in the reverse fixture back in September which bodes well for some more goalmouth action here.

Unlike that meeting, we don't think we will see as many as five goals on this occasion because the two teams have two of the lowest goal tallies in the division. Burton have mustered only 31 goals while Port Vale themselves have only scored 35 - both less than the amount of games they've played.

They do have players who can come up with individual moments of brilliance but they cannot be relied upon to do it consistently, otherwise they wouldn't be where they are in the table.

That being said, there will be some who might just be ready to stand up in a game of this magnitude and deliver the goods which can ignite hope among both sets of supporters.

Both teams to score yes at 5/6
