Burnley’s promotion push resumes on Saturday as they welcome Bristol City to Turf Moor (15:00). Scott Parker’s men still remain unbeaten at home, but it is their rate of draws that could cost them a top two spot as they look to close the gap on both Leeds United and Sheffield United.

Meanwhile, Bristol City have pushed themselves up into play-off contention and they now sit level on points with West Brom in sixth. This makes this clash a crucial one, and below you can find my Burnley vs Bristol City predictions.

Burnley vs Bristol City Betting Tips

  • Burnley to win to nil @ 6/4
  • Josh Brownhill to score anytime @ 13/5

Team News

Jordan Beyer, Enock Aygei, Bashir Humpreys, Aaron Ramsay, Jonjo Shelvey and Mike Tresor are the guaranteed absentees for Parker, but he has a talented squad and will hope to keep Bunley on track here.

The solid back four of Conor Roberts, Maxime Esteve, CJ Egan-Riley and Lucas Pires will continue unchanged, in front of James Trafford, who has conceded just 11 goals all season. At the other end of the pitch, Zian Flemming should lead the line, supported by Josh Brownhill who is enjoying a fine goalscoring season.

Marcus Edwards and Jaidon Anthony should provide the width, with Josh Cullen and Josh Laurent patrolling the midfield. Hannibal Mejbri and Lyle Foster will be hoping for starts, but that seems unlikely given the convincing display the Clarets put in away from home at Swansea last time out.

Burnley vs Bristol City Stats

  • Burnley are unbeaten in their last 25 league matches
  • They've conceded just 11 league goals all season
  • Josh Brownhill has scored 13 goals, four in his last five

Bristol City are without Luke McNally for the rest of the season due to an ACL injury but Ross McCrorie could return to contention for this one. George Tanner is unlikely to come back into the fold and Liam Manning may be brave with his box midfield, with Scott Twine likely to be unleashed against his former club having come off the bench against Norwich.

Anis Mehmeti should play alongside Twine and behind the sole striker Nahki Wells, while Rob Dickie, Haydon Roberts and Zak Vyner should line up as the back three once again.

Burnley vs Bristol City Odds

Burnley are priced at 4/6 to win this game, with Bristol City out at 4/1 to end Burnley’s unbeaten home run. That gives the home team an implied win probability of 60%, while a draw is 23/10.

Over 2.5 goals is 5/4 but has only come in during 24% of Burnley matches this term, while BTTS is 11/10. Zian Flemming is the favourite to score first at 5/1, having found the net eight times this term.

Burnley to win to nil @ 6/4

Oh he’s at it again. Burnley haven’t lost in the Championship in the last 25 matches and are just really difficult to beat in the league. Two defeats all season, both of them coming by 1-0 scorelines away from home earlier in the campaign speak volumes about their consistency this term, and this recent run has seen them win games rather than draw them, allowing them to reel Leeds and Sheffield United in.

They’ve won four of their last five, while their defensive record needs no introduction. 11 goals conceded all season, and they are set to smash the current record of 30 goals conceded, set by Watford during the Covid season. Even against an upwardly-mobile Bristol City outfit, I’m going to side with the Clarets to get the job done - plus another Trafford clean sheet to boot.

Josh Brownhill to score anytime @ 13/5

You’d have got decent odds on Brownhill being Burnley’s top scorer this season, but in a year where they haven’t torn teams apart despite all their individual talent, he has reliably stepped up to the plate. He’s now up to 13 league goals this season, just four behind top scorer Borja Sainz and still has an outside shout of winning the Golden Boot.

His recent record has been spectacular as he’s found the net in four of his last five outings, while the fact he is the designated penalty-taker also tips the scales in our favour. Playing as the most advanced central midfielder, we are getting great value on him to find the net anytime in this home match.
