The first Der Klassiker of the Bundesliga season comes our way on Saturday (17:30 BST, Sky Sports Football) as Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. The hosts have had a flawless start to the season, winning all six games to date and they sit at the top of the table.

Dortmund sit in second, and they themselves are unbeaten but they are four points behind the defending champions. Below you will find my Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund predictions, supported by the latest team news and match odds.

Team News

Bayern Munich's winning start to the season is that much more impressive given they are still not at full strength. Vincent Kompany is still having to cope with several injuries.

Jamal Musiala remains sidelined with a broken leg and ankle that he sustained in the summer during the Fifa Club World Cup. The German international is not due to return to action until the new year.

Alphonso Davies has been absent for Die Bayern since March with a knee problem. Hiroki Iro and Josip Stanisic are also confined to the medical bay with the two foot and knee issues respectively.

Harry Kane will look to add to his 11-goal tally in the league. The England international has bagged seven goals in eight competitive appearances against Dortmund in his career.

Football Odds

Emre Can is out of action for Dortmund with a groin injury. Teenage star Julien Duranville will not get a chance to feature in this high-profile fixture as he nurses a shoulder problem.

Aaron Anselmino, meanwhile, is also expected to miss out due to a muscle issue.

Bayern have won their opening six league games of the season and they are the 1/3 favourites to prevail on Saturday. There have been goals at both ends in the past two Bundesliga meetings between the two clubs. Bayern and BTTS is priced at 5/4, which has an implied probability of 44.4%.

BTTS on its own is valued at 4/7.

Both those meetings did end level, however, and the draw is marketed at 9/2.

Dortmund have won four of their last five league fixtures and they are 7/1 to collect the three points.

This is set to be Bayern's biggest domestic test of the season so far and I think Dortmund will put Kompany's men to work. The two teams couldn't be separated last term as both fixtures ended in a draw.

In 2025/26, both have started the season strongly but seeing as Bayern are the home team and have a 100% winning record, I think they should have enough to beat their historic rivals.

Bayern have been on fire in attack, with 25 goals scored in the Bundesliga this term already. Their attacking quartet of Kane, Serge Gnabry, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz have scored 92% (23/25) of them and with the form they are in, I am expecting them to collectively rise to the occasion against the Black and Yellows.

With BTTS striking in both league meetings last season, I believe we will see the net ripple at both ends here, but I'm backing the hosts to outgun their opponents.

Serge Gnabry anytime goalscorer @ 6/4

Kane is the most obvious candidate when picking out a goalscorer in this clash but at 1/2, the price isn't appealing enough. So I am turning to one of the supporting cast in attack for Bayern to get on the scoresheet.

Gnabry is the player I'm backing to find the net because not only has he scored three times this season in the league, he was on the scoresheet in this fixture last season. I predict that he will play another key role in this derby.
