The first of two DFB-Pokal semi-finals this week takes place at the BayArena on Wednesday (19:45 BST, Premier Sports 2) as reigning champions Bayer Leverkusen host recently-crowned Bundesliga title winners Bayern Munich.

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, recently announced that Serge Gnabry will be out for a 'prolonged spell' after sustaining a muscle injury.

The Germany international joins Tom Bischof (calf), Maycon Cardozo (thigh), Lennart Karl (muscle), Cassiano Kiala (ankle) and Wisdom Mike (hip) in the treatment room, while Sven Ulreich remains doubtful with a muscle issue.

Vincent Kompany made wholesale changes for Sunday's 4-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart that confirmed back-to-back Bundesliga titles. Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Konrad Laimer, all of whom came off the bench at the Allianz Arena, are expected to return to the starting XI in midweek, while Luis Diaz should keep his place after being withdrawn at half-time.

Bayer Leverkusen are 18/5, or a 21.7% chance, to win in 90 minutes, with Bayern 8/15, implying a 65.2% chance, and the draw, which would send the tie to extra time, priced at 18/5.

The hosts and visitors are 5/2 and 2/7, respectively, in the 'To Win Tie' market.

Bayern are 17 games unbeaten (W15, D2) and have won their last seven, beating Real Madrid home (4-3) and away (1-2) in that run.

Their last defeat against Leverkusen came in the last 16 of this competition in December 2024, with Nathan Tella scoring the only goal of the game in the 69th minute at Allianz Arena, where Manuel Neuer had received a 17th-minute red card.

Bayern have beaten Leverkusen three times since, sandwiched by two draws.

Leverkusen have won two of their last three matches, but they were beaten 2-1 at home by Augsburg last Saturday, and they've only won two of their last eight games (D4, L2).

The visitors, set to restore their star men to the starting XI on Wednesday, are big favourites to win in 90 minutes.

Kane is one of those players set to go back into Kompany's lineup in midweek, and he goes in search of a goal in a sixth consecutive game, having come off the bench against Stuttgart on Sunday to score his 51st of the season for Bayern, in just 43 appearances.

The England captain has four goals in eight career games against Leverkusen, all for Bayern, and three of those strikes were in two cup matches in the Uefa Champions League.

Kane has scored in his last 10 starts, and it would be a surprise if he didn't make it 11 on Wednesday.

Fellow forward Diaz was on target in February's 1-1 draw between Leverkusen and Bayern at the BayArena, although a red card 15 minutes after his equalising strike took some of the shine off his performance.

The Colombia international was taken off at half-time on the weekend, but already had two assists to his name, and he's now registered a goal or assist (or both) in seven of his last eight club starts; his season tally for Bayern is 24 goals and 17 assists.

Completing the three-man forward line for Bayern is Olise, who has enjoyed an even more productive season for Bayern than Diaz, scoring 18 goals and providing 26 assists.

The Frenchman has scored in each of his last two starts and despite only coming on at the start of the second half against Stuttgart on Sunday, he registered two shots on target, making it 12 consecutive Bundesliga game with at least one shot on target.

Olise has scored twice in four DFB-Pokal appearances this season, hitting the target with five of his 11 shots in the competition, while he forced a save from Leverkusen goalkeeper Janis Blaswich with the first of his two shots at the BayArena last month.

Player to Receive a Card - Edmond Tapsoba @ 13/5

Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba was given the runaround by Olise at the BayArena last month, giving three free-kicks away for fouling the Frenchman before going into the book late on for upending Joshua Kimmich.

The 27-year-old was also shown a yellow card in last season's Bundesliga meeting on home soil (0-0, February 2025), and in a 3-0 Champions League quarter-final first-leg defeat at the Allianz Arena the following month.

Tapsoba has been booked six times in 16 career appearances against Bayern; he hasn't been shown more than four against any other side.

A seventh card against Bayern could be in the offing this week, with Olise, averaging 2.3 and 1.8 fouls won per 90, respectively, in this season's Bundesliga and Champions League, likely to ask a lot of questions of him again.
