As we head into the second international break of the season, Bayer Leverkusen lead the way in the Bundesliga after seven matches. We take a look at how the market for the Bundesliga champions is shaping up as things stand.

Bundesliga Winner Odds

  • Bayern Munich – 1/4
  • Bayer Leverkusen – 13/2
  • Borussia Dortmund – 10/1
  • RB Leipzig – 14/1

Bayern Munich @ 1/4

Despite being third in the table after seven games, the odds have not been kinder for the reigning champions. And why not? Bayern Munich have won the past 11 Bundesliga titles in a row. It is going to take a very special side to dethrone them.

They are just two points off the top of the table at this moment in time and of course Thomas Tuchel’s side boasts some of the best attackers in Europe with Harry Kane, Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry. They will only improve as the season wears on.

Bayer Leverkusen @ 13/2

Xabi Alonso has taken very well to his first serious role in management with Bayer Leverkusen. He made an impact when he arrived at the club last October, guiding his side to the Europa League semi-finals. He now has them in a very strong position to compete with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund for the Bundesliga crown.

Leverkusen join Bayern and Dortmund as the three teams in the division yet to taste defeat after seven games, but they have picked up one more win than their rivals. The squad has a strong harmony at this stage of the campaign, and they will only continue to improve when domestic football resumes.

Borussia Dortmund @ 10/1

Dortmund came closest to dethroning Bayern last season and it was in their hands on the final day, an opportunity that could haunt them this year. After losing star man Jude Bellingham in the summer, the task of keeping up with Bayern became much harder.

However, there isn’t anything to separate the two clubs at this stage of term. They have both won five games and drawn two, albeit Bayern have a much better record defensively and in front of goal.

Edin Terzic has got an excellent response from his players so far after last year’s heartbreak, and he will be hoping that he can deliver a first league title for the Black and Yellows in 11 years.

RB Leipzig @ 14/1

RB Leipzig have been a growing threat in the Bundesliga in recent years, and that threat is growing with Marco Rose now at the helm. Forgetting his brief year in charge of Dortmund, the job he oversaw at Borussia Monchengladbach was outstanding, and the Foals have regressed since his departure.

He possesses a strong squad at Leipzig, and one that is capable of challenging for the Bundesliga title if they maintain momentum. They have lost only once this season, which was against Leverkusen. But they did hold defending champions Bayern to a 2-2 draw recently, which shows that they do have the quality to tussle with the other big boys in the league.

The biggest focus for them after the international break will be how to turn draws into victories.
