There's plenty of midweek football to get excited about this week, with the Champions League returning to our TV screens on Tuesday.

Our focus is on the EFL though, and we have picked out five games that look like they should be entertaining fixtures across England and Wales on Tuesday night. Our BTTS fivefold should pay around 12/1 for those that follow.

BTTS tips Tuesday

  • Preston vs Huddersfield @ 5/6
  • Sheffield Wednesday vs Norwich City @ 4/6
  • Southampton vs Coventry City @ 1/2
  • Charlton Athletic vs Wigan Athletic @ 8/11
  • Colchester vs Stockport @ 8/11

Preston vs Huddersfield @ 5/6

Preston may have left their playoff push too late, but the Lilywhites have plenty to fight for with six games left of their season.

They are seven points off the top six and have won six of their last 12 in the league, scoring 18 goals in the process.

Preston have conceded 31 times at home this season, though, which is the joint-highest total in the top 14 teams in the league.

Huddersfield are fighting for their lives at the bottom and have scored six in their last five on the road.

Sheffield Wednesday vs Norwich City @ 4/6

The Owls are running out of time if they are to survive this season, but a return to Hillsborough should be just what they need to ease the pressure.

Wednesday have only lost four of their last 15 at home in all competitions, while they have only failed to net in four of their previous 15 in front of their own fans in the Championship.

Norwich's away form has been their Achilles heel this season, but they have scored in six consecutive Championship games on their travels.

Southampton vs Coventry City @ 1/2

Fourth versus seventh at St Mary's on Tuesday, with both teams eager to put on a show.

Only Ipswich Town have scored more goals at home than Southampton's 46, but Coventry have scored 33 times in 20 away games. The Sky Blues beat Leeds 2-1 on Saturday to move closer to the playoffs, and this should be another entertaining battle.

Charlton Athletic vs Wigan Athletic @ 8/11

Neither Charlton nor Wigan can dream of the playoffs this season, but that doesn't mean Tuesday's game will not be entertaining.

Charlton's last eight games have seen both teams score 88% of the time, and while Wigan are 16th in the away form table, with only five wins from 20 matches, they face an Addicks team that have only won eight at home all season.

Colchester vs Stockport @ 8/11

Into League Two for the final match of our acca, and both teams have plenty to fight for this week.

Colchester are still in the relegation zone, but they have scored in eight of their last 10 to give themselves hope of avoiding the drop.

They have also conceded in their last 11 games in League Two, which bodes well for league-leaders Stockport.

Stockport have picked up an incredible 36 points on the road this season, and only Mansfield have scored more than them this year on their travels.

The Accumulator, at the prices, pays around 12/1.
