BTTS Tips: Saturday’s action provides a chance for goals

Saturday once again brings a wealth of football action to our screens, with a giant fixture list from across England set to take place. We’ve also taken in some action from the continent as we look for value in our BTTS Tips for Saturday, November 9. 

Brentford vs Bournemouth @ 4/9

Let’s start with this Premier League match-up between two sides who look evenly-matched so far. Bournemouth currently sit 10th as they travel to 12th-placed Brentford on Saturday, but what we are searching for is goals. Brentford don’t seem able to keep a clean sheet at this moment in time and nine of their 10 Premier League matches have finished with both teams on the scoresheet. 

That success rate of 90 per cent is something that is difficult to ignore, while their last three Premier League matches at the Gtech Stadium have finished 4-3, 5-3 and 3-1. All entertaining home wins, but we don’t care about the result. Bryan Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa are getting amongst the goals while the Bees do look incredibly leaky at the back. 

Meanwhile Bournemouth have seen both teams find the net in six of their 10 matches so far, but they have scored in four of their last five fixtures. Antoine Semenyo is on fire, and having just defeated the champions Manchester City, they will certainly be on a high. I’m happy to back them both to find the net this weekend. 

Liverpool vs Aston Villa @ 4/7

A big game on Saturday night should see a lot of attacking intent at Anfield. Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League having scored 19 goals in 10 league matches, while Luis Diaz scored a hat-trick to put them top of the Champions League table in midweek. 

There’s plenty of goals in this Liverpool team as they continue to impress under Arne Slot, so I’m happy to back them to find the net once again on home soil. Meanwhile, Aston Villa have seen BTTS come in 80 per cent of the time in the league this term, and they will have a point to prove having lost 4-1 at Tottenham last weekend. With Ollie Watkins and John Duran, they should be able to get a couple of shots away against this Liverpool defence. I’m happy to back both teams to find the net at Anfield. 

Villarreal vs Deportivo Alaves @ 8/11

This one is an easy selection for me. Villarreal have the highest BTTS percentage in La Liga, as 10 of their 11 league matches this season have ended with both teams on the scoresheet. That puts them at 91 per cent, which just for some perspective, is miles clear of the next highest (Barcelona at 67 per cent). 

Now Alaves’ matches also contain a fair number of goals and although their BTTS percentage is 50, they have scored 14 and conceded 19 goals in La Liga so far this term. I think they have what it takes to find the net against a Villarreal team that cannot keep a clean sheet for love nor money. 

Wrexham vs Mansfield Town @ 8/11

We drop down to League 1 now for a massive clash between third-placed Wrexham and fourth-placed Mansfield. I think there is a lot of attacking quality on show with the likes of Ollie Palmer, Paul Mullin and Lee Gregory all involved, and I think this will be a pulsating encounter. 

Wrexham drew 2-2 with Charlton last time out while Mansfield have scored 10 goals in their last four outings across all competitions. There’s enough here for me to believe that both teams will find the back of the net at the Racecourse Ground on Saturday.
